People don’t call me the World’s Most Disciplined Man because I… - Am 4% body fat - Am a Navy SEAL - Workout 3x’s per day - Read a book per week - Run ultramarathons every Saturday I am none and do none of those things. They call me the World’s Most Disciplined Man because I am incredibly productive when it comes to what matters in my business… And I’m still able to make time for what matters – my family – in my personal life. I take the complete opposite approach to discipline from what most guru’s out there are teaching. I don’t believe in developing discipline the “hard way”... Where you join some challenge consisting of random activities that are not at all related to your specific problems or goals in life. Adding more “stuff” is not the answer. Especially if you already lack time for doing what you want to do now. I don’t care if someone works out 2xs per day… If that doesn’t directly serve your main goals, then to me that’s not disciplined. It’s wasting your life. Listen, I know guys that have done popular “hardcore” challenges multiple times… And then they still had their wives walk out on them – with the kids – because they were always on their phones during family time (trying to catch up on all the work they were behind on from working out twice per day!) That’s why I preach an easier, faster, and more effective way to become more disciplined: Discipline Through Subtraction In my experience, it’s the best way to 5X your discipline… And it’s as simple as it sounds. The first thing to subtract is other people’s definitions of success. Start by asking, “What does 'being more disciplined' specifically mean to you?” “What does your most successful life look like?” The next thing to subtract are triggers for bad habits … Want to be more disciplined with not drinking alcohol? Get it out of your house. Want to be more disciplined with your phone? Use app blockers that stop you from doom scrolling or binge watching YouTube. Finally… Subtract bad people and bad places. Negative influences and environments destroy discipline. Don’t tempt yourself to add extra stuff that clutters up your life. Instead, increase your discipline with subtraction. It's easier, faster, and more effective. Your partner and kids will thank you. I promise.
