Our rural communities are at risk

Overturning Roe v. Wade will disproportionately impact our rural and tribal communities, and our constitutional right to privacy. {NAME}, Last week, I spoke in front of the courthouse at the Missoula rally protesting the leaked draft opinion on Roe v. Wade. There were up to four generations of Montana men, women and children gathered -- and their concern about the future was palpable. [Talking with protesters in Missoula]( {NAME}, abortion and reproductive care isn’t just about women’s health, it’s family health. It’s undeniable that restriction of any type of healthcare is going to disproportionately impact rural families and tribal communities with fewer resources. Healthcare workers and facilities work hard to reach all Montanans, so any further restriction will have a real and lasting impact on Montana families. I’ve spent my career working to bring better health services to rural and tribal communities, and legislation like this could bring detrimental damage to the already scarce resources that are in place in these areas.
