I know I do -- and I also know exactly why: It's a microwave oven, and it's plugged into a power strip. Don't do this. Don't be me. I would also add cable TV boxes to this list. I used to work at a cable company, and I'd do a lot of troubleshooting when people's televisions went a bit weird. Set-tops are not especially power hungry, but they are susceptible to poor performance if they don't get enough juice.
