LSU also said it would try to get the AAU to consider research conducted on all its campuses, not just the flagship, in Baton Rouge. (Louisiana Illuminator) CAMPUS CUTS [Cleveland State U. Will Lay Off 14 Staff Members]( The Ohio university is attempting to close a $40-million budget deficit that stems from declining enrollment. In a statement on Tuesday, Cleveland State did not specify which departments would be affected by the layoffs. The university already sought to cut its staff with buyouts. (WVXU) TECHNOLOGY [UC-Santa Cruz Apologizes for False Alert About Ebola That Was Really a Phishing Test]( The University of California campus’s information-security division sent out an email on Sunday that was designed to train employees to recognize scam emails. The test email seemed believable because it warned that a case of the lethal Ebola virus had been found on campus. On Monday, UCSC’s chief information-security officer emailed the campus to apologize.
