(WTMJ, The Chronicle) TRANSFER [Maine Community-College Graduates Get Guaranteed Admission to State Universities]( Under an agreement signed on Tuesday, students with associate degrees in certain fields, including biotechnology, business, and education, will be able to pursue a bachelorâs degree at any of the seven University of Maine campuses without application fees, letters of recommendation, or essays. The program starts this fall. (WCSH) CONSOLIDATION [Mount Mercy U. and St. Ambrose U. to Combine Into Single University]( In [plans announced]( in May, the two small Roman Catholic universities in Iowa said they were not merging but seeking an arrangement that would allow students to take courses at either institution. Under [a new agreement]( St. Ambrose will become the nonprofit parent of Mount Mercy. (The Gazette, KWQC, St. Ambrose news release) CYBERSECURITY [Possible Ransomware Attack Hits Northwest Arkansas Community College]( The collegeâs network has been shut down since Tuesday, as technicians work to clear its systems. According to anonymous reports, the hackers sent a message to all printers on campus threatening to post student and employee data on âour TOR darknet sitesâ if a ransom were not paid. The college said it had paid no ransom.
