What's up?! Happy St. Patty’s Day from Miami! Bret and I are still here and LOVING it. We love where we’re staying (shout out to The 1 Hotel) - OMG - the gym, the pools and the food are all next level amazing! I have run into a few of you around town and at the hotel. Please ask me for a pic or I will feel like a loser… I got to meet one of our #vault girlies (Hey, Amy from Pennsylvania!) just minutes before writing this email! [Chalene Trip]( BTW…I’m definitely doing a Miami meet up so send a text with #Miami to 949.503.9873 if you want deets. While we are here, Bret and I are actively searching for a short-term rental property to stay in for a few months before taking off to Europe. Hotel life is very entertaining but complicated with a dog. In the meantime, what I really can’t get enough of is all the people-watching and eavesdropping at this hotel. So good. Some of the conversations and gym-watching are straight up reality-tv-worthy. Seriously, you can’t make this sh*t up. If you want to hear all about it, tune into my [Wednesday podcast](. Yes, you heard me right: Wednesday’s pod! I know, I know, you’re used to me spilling the tea on all the personal deets (plus rants and Bret, semi-unfiltered) every Friday, but I’m changing things up, and I started this week. Because I post an exclusive Saturday [Patreon]() episode that’s full of the juiciest bits from my week, I decided to space out the more casual podcasts and release my regular ones on Mondays and Fridays from now on. So, that means the informal Friday “Car Smart” type stuff will now be on Wednesdays. Wow! The weight loss wars! I was not expecting so much drama over Monday’s podcast. If you missed it, I dove deep into the weight loss drugs that are sweeping not just the nation, but the world. [image]( Ya’ll…you need to hear everything I uncovered before you go injecting yourself with this controversial “miracle drug.” I’m not here to tell you “yay” or “nay.” And I do believe there are plenty of people who legit need them. But…they’re not something you should use for a quick spring break slimdown. So, before you make any decisions or assumptions, get educated on the side effects and downsides. I dish about them all [on this episode](. After you listen, I’ll be curious to hear from you about the topic. Several PodSquad’ers have already chimed in. So keep the conversation going over there. I genuinely care about what you have to say about it! [Chalene Octowarren](=) Right now, I’m pretty much obsessed with the topic of TMS journaling, so, don’t mind me doing research while in a strappy one piece from Shein. 😂 If you’re not familiar with TMS, it’s an avenue we’re exploring to help Bret find relief from his nearly two-year struggle with neuropathy. I’ve talked about his struggles at length [on the podcast](). If you need to catch up, here’s a quick summary of TMS:Tension Myoneural Syndrome is a mind-body disorder characterized by chronic pain that cannot be fully explained by physical abnormalities or injuries. TMS is believed to be caused by repressed emotions and stress, which result in the brain creating pain as a distraction. Treatment for TMS involves addressing the underlying emotional and psychological factors through techniques such as journaling, therapy, and stress reduction. So, Bret has agreed to add daily journaling to his list of therapies aimed at curing his condition. We came up with several journal prompts for him, and, of course, for you or someone you love who might also benefit from journaling. - What emotions have I been feeling lately? Have I been suppressing any emotions? If so, which ones? - What are some stressors in my life right now? How am I coping with them? - Do I have any negative thoughts or beliefs about my physical symptoms? Write down any doubts or fears that come to mind. - How do my physical symptoms affect my daily life? What activities do they prevent me from doing? - Write down any instances where you feel angry, frustrated, or resentful. How does this emotion manifest in your body? - Have I experienced any trauma or significant life changes recently? How have these events affected me? - Write down any limiting beliefs or negative self-talk you may have. How do these beliefs affect your life? - Are there any relationships in my life that are causing me stress or anxiety? How do these relationships affect my physical symptoms? - What are some ways I can practice self-care and relaxation in my daily life? Write down some ideas and commit to incorporating them into your routine. - Write down any affirmations or positive self-talk that resonates with you. Repeat these affirmations to yourself throughout the day. So, do you think you’ll carve out some time for yourself, and this important exercise? I’ll keep you posted on Bret’s progress!
