What comes to mind when you think of Rosh Hashanah? The crispy apple and sticky honey. The delicious brisket dinner to be shared with family and friends. The heart-stirring blasts [Chabad.org]( [PLEASE DONATE NOW]( By the Grace of G‑d 16 Elul, 5784 September 19, 2024 Dear Friend, What comes to mind when you think of Rosh Hashanah? The crispy apple and sweet honey? The heart-stirring blasts of the shofar? The festive brisket dinner shared with family and friends? The loving wishes to one another for a happy, healthy, and peaceful new year? These are all parts of Rosh Hashanah’s ultimate splendor: G-d’s renewal of creation. The new energy G-d grants us each to change the world. And our promise to use those gifts for good. This year holds even greater significance. The Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of righteous memory, taught us that when the holiness of Rosh Hashanah flows seamlessly into Shabbat like it does this year, the entire year ahead is especially elevated! We are entering a year that holds unusual potential for us to fill with holiness, unity, and peace — with each other and with G-d, starting from its very first day. When we stand together, we lift each other, and our collective energy illuminates the world! We share inspiration, offer encouragement, and discover the courage to proudly carry out the Torah and be its dedicated students. You can give people that light and courage! [PLEASE DONATE NOW]( Chabad.org is where people from all over the world and from all walks of life come together to study, learn and grow. The wisdom of the Torah, as passed down through the generations by our Sages, grounds us, strengthens us, and guides us on all of life’s challenges. I am asking for your help today because we all need this coming year to be one of peace and unity. As we get ready for the New Year (5785), we need your help to illuminate the world with the timeless wisdom and traditions of Judaism. Can you please contribute $36? Many people feel as though they live in spiritual isolation. Some struggle with loneliness or anxiety, while others experience feelings of sadness. When hearing about painful news from Israel and from communities around the world, many feel helpless and at a loss. They want a connection to their people, to G-d, and to express their spiritual selves…Instead, they feel disconnected from their faith and community. We can empower and uplift one another! Our secure, quick, easy donation page: [Chabad.org/GiveNewLife]( Here are some messages we’ve recently received; you can see how you make a real difference: “I want to thank you. In these awful times, people keep saying, 'Pray.' But many of us don’t know how! So I did what I do whenever I’m not sure how to do a Jewish thing, and went to Chabad.org. And you suggested Psalms, which I’ve started saying. I didn’t expect to get so emotional while reading these ancient words, but they are powerful and feel like they could have been written for this moment.” "Thank you to the Chabad.org team. When the world seems so dark, you’ve showed me how to bring light. I’ll be lighting the Shabbat candles with my daughters this afternoon. May this end speedily and may all the innocent remain safe and unharmed." "I never thought that I would have to do this, but now when I get attacked by antisemitic trolls, I send them your piece on why people hate the Jews in Hitler's words. They always back off. It’s brilliant. I give you credit." "These days especially, what gets me through is prayer, praise, saying thank you to G-d, and all the Chabad.org words of wisdom, Tanya, Chumash, and so forth." These are but a few of the many messages we get every day! Your donation is especially important during the Rosh Hashanah-High Holiday season. When the shofar sounds, it’ll call us to reconnect to G-d, to start a new page, to resolve to do better. And it’ll challenge us to reach deep within ourselves to emulate G-d and provide new life to others with generosity and love. The power of this new life — propelled in part by your donations — will surely help protect the Jewish people, and the entire world during the year to come. This is the miraculous power G-d gives every one of us; this is the gift of Rosh Hashanah that G-d gives you. It's why I hope you'll find it in your heart to [donate now](. For you. For all the people in search of G-d's timeless wisdom. For all looking for life skills. For all who seek friendship and community. And for the whole world. The High Holidays are right around the corner. Rosh Hashanah, and then the awesome and holy day of Yom Kippur. This is when we come together to pray and bless each other for a sweet year. Can you bless others with a gift of $36 in honor of the High Holidays? It's a great way to start the New Year. If now isn't a good time for you to contribute, I understand. Give if you can. May you and your loved ones be granted a happy, healthy, and sweet new year, a year of life and tranquility, a year of unity and goodness, for you and for the entire world! Shanah Tovah!
