Back in my TV news reporter days, I learned early on that newsrooms abide by an unofficial rule: “If it bleeds, it leads.” That means violence and crime are always on the front page or at the top of the broadcast, while anything remotely positive is lower priority. But just because I understand it doesn’t mean I’m immune to it. The non-stop doom-and-gloom from most news sources can be draining, especially if you're rarely exposed to uplifting or hopeful stories that could help balance the scales. That’s why I wanted to tell you about the [Goodnewsletter](. The Goodnewsletter is a free daily email that aims to uplift and inspire its readers with real good news. Get A Summary Instead [An image of an iPhone screen displaying the Scheduled Summary option.]( If you’re tired of your phone buzzing all day long, this feature can save your sanity. The notifications I get about emails, texts, updates, and other happenings on my phone don’t always bother me, but if I’m already feeling frazzled, they certainly don’t help matters! Luckily, I recently learned about an iPhone feature that made it easy to consolidate my notifications. It’s called Scheduled Summary, and as the name suggests, it allows you to schedule the delivery of your notifications for a certain time of day. It’s a great way to minimize distractions, and it’s easy to set up too. Here’s how to do it: Go to Settings > Notifications > Scheduled Summary, then use the toggle to turn it on. You'll then be prompted to choose apps to include in your summary from a list, which is helpfully ordered by the average daily number of notifications you get from each app. Once you've chosen your apps, you'll be prompted to set a schedule. You can schedule your summary to appear once, or you can choose to get two or three summaries throughout the day. Then just tap Turn on Scheduled Summary, and you're done! Have An Android Phone? Unfortunately, Android doesn’t appear to have an equivalent to Scheduled Summary. But I did some research and found that a few Android authorities recommend an app called FilterBox for controlling notifications, so that may be worth looking into! [See FilterBox on Google Play](. As far back as ancient Egypt, mathematicians knew that the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter was always the same.
