Father's Day Gear Store sale, Local Partners treatment, partner giveaways, and BaT podcasts. Stay up

Father's Day Gear Store sale, Local Partners treatment, partner giveaways, and BaT podcasts. Stay up-to-date with BaT News and Updates. Hi {NAME}, We're excited to announce a few projects we've had in the works for awhile, along with our regular slate of giveaways and editorial content. Here's what's new at BaT. Father's Day Gear Store Sale: Top 80 of the '80s Book and Other Merch We wrote a book! For much of 2023, a select few of our staff worked on a secret project—and it’s finally time to unveil it. A book about cars, of course, but more specifically a book about the cars of the 1980s—a collection of our 80 favorite models of the decade as determined by thorough polling of BaT staff. We call it, appropriately, [Top 80 of the ’80s](. To celebrate Father's Day Weekend we're offering 20% off all items on the Gear Store, including Top 80 of the '80s. Use the code BATFATHERSDAY20 at checkout to claim your offer. This sale runs through Monday, June 17th. Top 80 of the ’80s is a hardbound 11″x14″ coffee table book featuring spectacular photography from BaT auction listings, a foreword from BaT Co-Founder and President Randy Nonnenberg, short capsules about each vehicle from your faithful BaT writing staff, and essential statistics gleaned from period performance testing. A limited number of copies are [available in the BaT Gear Store]( for $59.95 apiece, and all proceeds from the sale will be donated to the[American Diabetes Association](. Thank you to all the sellers and photographers who granted us permission to feature their work, and kudos to the dedicated BaT staff who came up with this idea and worked so hard to bring it to life! We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed making it. Be sure to check out other [apparel]( [hats]( and [accessories]( in our Gear Store. Local Partners Treatment: Selling Randy's Lancia Delta Integrale on BaT Since the introduction of [BaT Local Partners]( in early 2023, the network has grown to over 45 different service providers and counting! These trusted shops each have a proven track record of successful BaT auctions, and are ready and willing to provide anything from professional preparation services on an a la carte basis to full-service assistance in submitting and managing your auction. Now, that’s a pretty broad mandate—so to illustrate how the process can work, we’ve filmed BaT President Randy Nonnenberg engaging one of our Local Partners, [Genau Autowerks]( to prepare [his 1991 Lancia Delta Integrale Evo 1]( for auction. [[ratio]  ]( In the end, how you use BaT Local Partners is up to you! You interface directly with your chosen shop and only pay for the services you need. We don’t receive a penny from our Local Partners, and they don’t get a penny from us. The sole aim of this program is to help you get the best result for your car when selling on BaT. In service of that goal, our Local Partners program has made its biggest move yet. We have so many BaT Community members in Europe who keep asking us “When are you coming?” The answer is now! We’re very excited to announce the first of our BaT Local Partners in Europe, [Image Street Classics](. Image Street Classics will also be hosting us in the race paddock for the [Historic Grand Prix]( held June 21-23 at the famed Zandvoort F1 circuit in the Netherlands! We look forward to seeing some of the most impressive vintage iron (and aluminum, and magnesium) in the world at the Historic Grand Prix, which promises to be an incredible event. If you’ll be there for the races, please stop by our BaT display—you won’t be able to miss it! BaT President Randy Nonnenberg, BaT Head of Auctions Howard Swig, and our good friend @[ImageStreetClassics]( will be there all weekend, along with other BaT staff and a selection of amazing cars coming up for auction. New Giveaways from Pennzoil and Michelin/BFGoodrich Our partnerships with Pennzoil and Michelin/BFGoodrich continue to roll on and deliver benefits for the BaT community. Every month in 2024, our partners at [Pennzoil]( will be covering the full 5% BaT buyer’s fee for one select vehicle that particularly reflects their [Long May We Drive]( mantra—we call these High Fives. For the month of May, we’ve chosen a car (or rather, most of a car) that we haven’t been able to stop thinking about since it showed up: [Dadstoys]( who scooped up this hairy [supercharged Viper-powered hot rod project]( (hilariously titled as a “1965 Dodge”) that was recently sold by [Wob](. Congratulations, Dadstoys! Here’s hoping that the refunded buyer’s fee helps you hit the ground running with your project car journey. In its current form, this car has the appearance of a 1,000-horsepower roller skate. Dubbed “The Harpoon” by its creator, it indeed looks ever eager to impale. But look past the post-apocalyptic-murder-machine vibe—this is an extremely ambitious project that was planned out by someone with a well-defined vision. Click [here]( to read our site post and learn more about this amazing build. We also announced Round 4 of our Michelin Tire Giveaway! While all four of our candidates were championed in the comments, there was one standout favorite among the crowd at the end; the [Fiat 124 Sport Spider]( took the lead early on and ran away with the votes, securing the win. So congratulations to the winner of the auction, [cheaphillbilly](. Recommissioning this little Fiat was certainly a labor of love for the seller, [Metrojojo]( and we’re glad that the BaT community was able to appreciate their efforts. cheaphillbilly says this will be the [most recent of five Fiats]( he’s owned. Sounds like he had a chance to test drive it during the auction, so he can probably imagine how nice it will ride on a new set of appropriately sized Michelin radials from their extensive [Classic line](.
