This may seem like a silly question… But would you only drive in an empty parking lot to practice for your driver’s license? Ok, you’re probably like… Joe, what does this have to do with basketball? Well, kind of everything. A beginning driver has to practice driving in situations they’ll encounter - other vehicles, stoplights, animals, weather... So they can make decisions (some split-second) to be the best driver they can be. The point is that in order to become good at something, you have to actually practice the exact skill and situation you’re trying to perfect. While drills without defenders have their place, the majority of your drills should mimic game situations against live defenders. Since when does a player ever get a nice, controlled layup approach with no defender IN A GAME? Hardly ever! Two-line layups and similar skill isolation drills without defenders are like driving around in an empty parking lot. It's of utmost importance to put your players in the situations they will encounter in their games against a live defense, which allows them to develop IQ and skillset, translating into more success for your team. Right now after about a half a season of basketball, I bet you’ve still got players who can perform in practice but not transfer skills to games... - They can’t convert a fast break scoring opportunity during the game even though they’re cranking out full-court layups at full speed during practice - They can’t knock down shots with a hand in the face during game time but consistently knock down shots during shooting drills - They can’t figure out how to take advantage of inside positioning during the game even though they can do a drop-step or cut to the high post when it’s open during practice And you’re left scratching your head and wondering why they aren’t performing in game time…and why you’re leaving unmade baskets on the court... resulting in fewer wins for your team! To this day, [Game-Based Drills]( are the most powerful method I’ve seen to combat those problems... to skyrocket those IQ muscles by mimicking the speed and conditions of real games. And so I’m very excited to share that... The Game-Based Training System is now on sale at the lowest price we ever offer ($73 OFF through Sunday, January 16). Plus, we’ve added 5 Bonuses to make it faster and easier than ever to implement with your team. [Get all the details here.]( In addition to boosting player IQ, here are a few more reasons why I believe every coach should have this program with 50+ Game-Based Drills in their library: - Familiarizes players with performing at game speed, intensity and situations - Allows you to isolate the skills you know your team needs to improve - Incentivizes players to go hard at practice - Quick improvement creates positive momentum that ripples through your team - Designed around how the brain works and how people learn (experientially) Imagine This Type of Player Transformation... Coach Barry Jorgensen shared the following story after using the Game-Based Training System with his team… “One kid I have would get the ball to the paint and with any type of pressure he’d pull up and pass. Since implementing this, he is not pulling up anymore. Now he’s taking quality shots and goes to the line because he’s comfortable taking contact at the rim. Simply AMAZING.” [Go here to grab your 50% Discount and Limited Time Bonuses (expires Sunday, January 16).]( All the Best, Joe Haefner Breakthrough Basketball  This email was sent to {EMAIL} because you indicated that you'd like to receive emails and updates from Breakthrough Basketball on 2016-12-16 05:42:39.
