  In today’s article, ["Roll the Dice" to Spice Up Your Training,]( you’ll learn: - The value of planned vs. spontaneous workouts (and when to implement both) - 11 challenges to create an effective "Dice" workout - The real reason why fresh new drills are crucial to player development "Roll the Dice" to Spice Up Your Training  There is a ton of value to a planned workout. It keeps you organized. It keeps you focused.   However, sometimes you just want to mix things up a little bit.  If you’re looking for a way to liven up your training, try the dice workout.  11 Challenges to Create an Effective “Dice” Workout  To get started, google online dice. Choose a site that allows you to “roll” 2 dice, allowing for 11 possible outcomes (2-12).  Set a timer for 30 minutes.  Roll the dice. Whatever number you land on, complete the corresponding challenge as quickly as you can.   Repeat until time expires.  Here’s 11 challenges you can use. Feel free to come up with your own as well.  1 - Make 5 free throws  2 - 100 pound dribbles with your weak hand  3 - Make 7 weak hand finishes  4 - 50 scissor dribbles  5 - Make 10 1 dribble pull ups  6 - Complete 30 in and out, crossover combos (each combo counts as 1)  7 - Do 10 pullback to behind the back combos (each combo counts as 1)  8 - Make 10 3’s  9 - Make 10 shots starting under the rim and curling to the elbow  10 - Make 10 finishes off a stride stop starting with a self toss and rip thru - 2 (1 going R, 1 going L) from each corner, each wing, and the top of the key  11 - Complete 3 shuttle dribble sprints with each hand (dribble from under the rim to the top of the key and back backwards)  The Spice Of Life: Why New Drills Ignite Improvement  Novelty should be part of your training. Keeping things fresh is a key part of staying motivated.  A player who looks forward to going to the gym is a player who is going to improve.  Get yourself hooked on this dice game and your game will be rollin’!  Looking For Other Training Resources?  As the season approaches, it’s a great time to put in some extra work on your game!  Check out these resources to help you take your game up a level:  1 - If you’re looking for ball handling and footwork workouts, [check out our app]( These workouts can be done in 10-15 minutes a day. They progress based on age and experience so that every player is challenged!  2 - If shooting is your emphasis, consider the [Breakthrough Shooting & Scoring System]( It also uses a progressive approach. You’ll start by become an elite catch and shoot player.
