As we reflect on the election, our commitment to advocacy remains steadfast. Dear Bread Family, Earl

As we reflect on the election, our commitment to advocacy remains steadfast. [Image description: Woman smiling holding happy child on her back. ]( Dear Bread Family, Earlier today, Bread for the World released a statement congratulating President-elect Donald J. Trump, Vice-President-elect J.D. Vance, and all the winners of the 2024 congressional elections. You can read the [full statement here](. Changing leaders brings new policies and repercussions—some we may welcome, others that could challenge us. As we navigate these changes, let us remember that our mission to end hunger is unwavering. Bread remains committed to standing alongside vulnerable communities, both here and globally, as we work toward a future where everyone can thrive. In the coming weeks, Congress faces urgent tasks, including emergency disaster relief, fiscal year 2025 appropriations, and possibly the farm bill—all of which impact the communities we advocate for. Bread will show up to face these challenges together, grounded in our shared calling to serve people experiencing hunger and hardship. Being a non-partisan organization, Bread is proudly made up of constituents who have historically supported candidates on both sides of the aisle. So, I know that there's a spectrum of emotions that many are feeling today ranging from despondency to a sense of victory. To everyone whose chosen candidates did not prevail, I encourage you to remain steadfast in your faith. To those whose chosen candidates took the day, may you remember to leverage this success on behalf of those who are vulnerable to hunger. I urge us all to remember that our collective action and mobilizing people of faith from all political parties can and will make a difference in working to end hunger. Please join me in prayer for a peaceful transition of power. Pray for President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris that they finish well, for Congress as they make critical decisions, and for President-elect Trump and Vice-President-elect Vance as they begin their leadership. May they lead with wisdom and compassion in a world where U.S. leadership remains so important. In Christ, [Rev. Eugene Cho] Rev.
