[YES]( [NO]( Friend, I was immensely proud to stand next to Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden as he signed a new, life-saving executive order and additional actions to combat our nation’s gun violence epidemic last week. These continued executive actions are consequential for the nation and will protect countless lives, but they also are deeply meaningful to me personally as a gun violence survivor. My mom was shot and killed when I was 19 years old and my father suffered multiple gunshot wounds but thankfully survived. My mom’s murder left me feeling incredibly lost, looking for answers and trying to figure out how to possibly move forward – that’s when I found Brady and found my voice. This organization has been a part of my journey of healing and advocacy for nearly 20 years and seeing the hard work and tenacity come to fruition was a reminder that our dedication is changing our country for the better. This event was one of the most rewarding moments I've experienced in the near 20 years I've been in this movement.
