Today, all of us at Brady PAC are remembering the 20 children and six faculty members who were killed, and we're holding their families in our hearts. I remember how certain we felt that this would be the last school shooting of its kind. The magnitude of sorrow and horror was just too great. We were certain that the gun lobby would yield to a basic sense of morality and humanity. And we trusted that our leaders would do everything they could to protect us. Today, we live in a very different world. We've watched our leaders do nothing as communities like Parkland and Uvalde and Orlando and Lewiston have been ripped apart by these weapons of war. Today, the greed of the gun lobby and the indifference of their bought-and-paid-for politicians are on full display. Now, we know that if we want to see change, we have to fight for it. [So today, I'm asking you to fight for that change by helping us get 10,000 signatures to our petition to BAN ASSAULT WEAPONS! We cannot undo the damage done to these families or get back the lives taken by assault weapons. But we can protect communities from the next mass shooting.
