Over the weekend, three Black Americans were shot and killed in a racist attack at a Dollar General in Jacksonville, Florida. {NAME}, Over the weekend, three Black Americans were shot and killed in a racist attack at a Dollar General in Jacksonville, Florida. The shooter left behind racist writings and used racial slurs before entering the store with an AR-15-style rifle and handgun. Our hearts are with the families of the victims and the community. They're not only suffering the consequences of yet another devastating and preventable act of gun violence – but one fueled by hatred and racism. We can't keep living like this. We shouldn't have to fear going to the store, movies, school, or concerts. And no American should fear for their lives simply due to the color of their skin. But the tragic reality is, that's not the country we live in. Buffalo, New York. Charleston, South Carolina. And now Jacksonville, Florida. Violent white supremacists have gunned down Black Americans time and again for just existing. We are not just facing an epidemic of gun violence, but an epidemic of racism and hatred. Despite tragedy after tragedy, the gun lobby has still refused to take a stand for our lives. In fact, the NRA's first tweet after this weekend's shooting committed with an AR-15 covered in swastikas was about their opposition to ban AR-15s. The gun lobby is fueling this cycle of violence, and they've made it clear that they'll do nothing to protect our communities. We're fighting every day to ban assault weapons and end gun violence in America, but we can't do it alone. [Please, consider donating to help us take on the NRA so we can stop tragedies like the shooting in Jacksonville from ever happening again.]( Thank you, Brady PAC We can't wait any longer for action on gun safety. We're fighting for lifesaving legislation like universal background checks and an assault weapons ban, but we need your support.
