Hello! Welcome to this week’s edition of the 2x2 newsletter. Your premier Friday email for leaders, creators, and decision makers like you who want to manage their tasks, time, and ideas better. Check this out 1: [Forrest Mankins Advice for Making Better Photos]( Some simple and good advice from one of my favorite photographers. Forrest suggests that to up-level your photography skills, start by reviewing your work and make note of what you do and don’t like in it? What was it that made you want to stop and take the photograph in the first place? Then, with that in mind, start to put yourself into new situations, limit your gear and force yourself into new creative constraints, and then find ways to bypass your default creative eye and try making different types of photos than what you normally would. 2: [Xnapper (Screenshot Tool)]( I’ve been noticing a lot of folks sharing some fancy-looking screenshots lately, and turns out its with this app called [Xnapper](. I downloaded it a few weeks ago and it’s great. If you share screenshots for marketing purposes, or just want to share nicer-looking screenshots, this is the app for you. Something to think about 1: Focus vs Unfocused A few symptoms of an unfocused life include things like: reacting to daily fires; feeling unsure about the future; lacking any [margin]( / breathing room; unclear goals; no plan forward; procrastination. Compared to a focused life where you are in control; clear long-term vision and goals; easily able to make decisions with confidence; thriving (even when things are unusually busy); ensuring that important relationships and responsibilities always come first and get your priority; you have a bias toward action. 2: What if you could only use ONE APP on your iPhone? So this is a completely random but fun experiment… but what app would you pick if you could only pick ONE? I know, I know. It’s an impossible choice. I’d be so torn between several: camera, notes, music, messages, tasks… And, as nerdy as it sounds, I think I’d pick the app [Things](. (The to-do list manager.) Things is not my most used app at all. But… it’s super fast, very easy to use and navigate, and very versatile. I think it’d work as the single spot to keep all my ideas, reminders, projects, tasks, notes, etc. I think I’d prefer the simplicity and speed over the missing features. If it was a different device — say iPad or Mac, I’d pick a different app. I’d probably pick [Ulysses]( as the only app I could use on my iPad. And [Notion]( as the only app I could use on my Mac. (Or I would totally cheat and say Safari on Mac.) * * * — Shawn 🔥 Did you know… [We offer an all-access pass to get our entire course library and resource vault.]( Your Accelerator membership includes our popular productivity courses for Things and Ulysses, as well as our flagship Focus course and Margin masterclass.
