Urgency isn’t always bad… (Though I would say that most of the time, urgency is mishandled by most entrepreneurs. Especially if you’re in any sort of client services such as a lawyer, CPA, agency owner, consultant, etc.) And same goes for opportunity. They’re both a type of “fire”. Urgency and opportunity can be fantastic assets when they’re working FOR you and your business. But, usually, they’re the main contributors of stress. And that’s what adds up to the burnout so many entrepreneurs are dealing with right now. I know because I 100% was that boss. And it was holding me back, big time. (Not to mention the significant stress and frustration it was causing me. But more on that next week.) Several years ago, I realized I needed to turn a corner in my business and how I was leading it. I was tired of being overwhelmed in the day-to-day and never having a clear path toward growth. I wanted to own a focused, profitable, and stress-free business. I wanted a to be able to… - Work on high-level opportunities, not just stay stuck working inside my own company without any growth or freedom. - Watch my company grow without my day-to-day input. - Take lots of guilt-free vacation time. - Trust my team to make decisions, drive growth, and free me up to focus on the things only I can do. ✅ When handled correctly, urgency and opportunity can create a focused direction and a healthy bias toward action. Think: a sustainable energy that drives things forward. A clear vision for what to focus on without distraction. ❌ But… when handled incorrectly… you end up living under the tyranny of the urgent and the burden of opportunity. Your days are spent reacting to fires and problems. Your nights are spent worrying about all the open loops. It’s exhausting and creates a toxic work environment. This is not the business culture you set out to build. * * * ^ And it’s why I’m on a mission to help agency owners run their full-time business on a part-time schedule. Next week I’m hosting a small, private workshop with Q&A. This is just for small business owners, and ideally, I’m looking for someone specific who: - Is a full-time agency owner, consultant, or solopreneur. - Is earning 6-figures or more in revenue (but may feel stuck / overwhelmed, or at a crossroads). - Would be interested in running their full-time business on a part-time schedule. If that sounds like you, and you’d like to join in on this small workshop, just hit reply and I’ll send you the calendar invite. — Shawn P.S. IF you also want to own a focused, profitable, and margin-full business… One that would allow YOU to… - Work on your highest-level opportunities. - Watch your company grow without it requiring your day-to-day input 365 days / year - Take more guilt-free vacation time (and truly be out of the office when you do). - Trust your team to make decisions without you, drive growth without you, and ultimately free you up to focus on the things only you can do (such as designing the future of your company). Then let me show you how I’ve done it... Just hit reply and I’ll get you a calendar invite to the small, private workshop I’m putting on next week. To unsubscribe, click [here](.
