Here's what we were up to in September [Black Voters Matter logo]( Friend, Welcome to our September Wrap-Up Newsletter!   This September, we focused on health equity, addressing the urgent issues that Black communities face every day—from rising drug prices and crushing medical bills to the systemic racism embedded in our healthcare system. We worked tirelessly to advocate for transformative change, ensuring access to essential care for all.  With Election Day just around the corner, health equity is one of the top concerns for Black voters. Our communities deserve life-saving maternal care. We deserve quality mental health care. We deserve to thrive—free from barriers to healthcare that deepen the cycle of systemic racism and inequity.  Too many still struggle to access the care they need, and we’re Sick and Tired of this fight. But we won’t stop. We will continue to advocate for the healthy, fulfilling, and joyous lives we know we are owed. There’s an entire agenda of issues that Black folks want addressed—and that’s what will determine whether we feel truly valued and respected.  In this newsletter, we highlight our September initiatives and the impact of our efforts. Your support makes all the difference. By donating today, you’ll help us push for reforms and provide the resources needed to build a future where everyone has access to the healthcare they deserve. Thank you for standing with us in this fight. [DONATE NOW](  Black Voters Matter's Impact MOBILIZING BLACK VOTERS ACROSS KEY STATES This month, our "We Fight Back" GOTV campaign made great strides in mobilizing Black communities across key states. Our buses toured North Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Maryland, Alabama, Louisiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas, connecting with voters through door-to-door canvassing, block parties, voter registration drives, GOTV rallies, town halls, and student forums.  We reached diverse groups, including young voters, formerly incarcerated individuals, and local leaders, emphasizing the importance of this election. In battleground states like North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, Black voter turnout can make a decisive difference, while in Texas and Alabama, high turnout is essential to counteract voter suppression.  Through grassroots organizing, community engagement, and strategic outreach, we are showing the powerful impact of Black voter participation. By turning out, we shape a more just and equitable future.  Black Voters Matter Updates BVM LAUNCHES $15M FALL GOTV CAMPAIGN  This month, Black Voters Matter launched our fall 2024 “We Fight Back” GOTV campaign. With a $15 million investment, the campaign aims to engage 10 million voters across 12 states, focusing on critical issues like education, economic justice, and healthcare access. Through a multi-state ad campaign, voter activations, and partner grants, we are committed to empowering voters and ensuring they have the tools and information needed for this crucial election.   As the political landscape shifts, Black voters are increasingly pivotal, seeking progress on key issues such as student debt, affordable housing, and police accountability. In the face of disinformation and suppressive tactics, our campaign will unify a broad coalition of organizations and advocates to defend fundamental freedoms and push for meaningful change.   “For Black voters, this election is about shaping the future,” said Cliff Albright, co-founder and executive director of Black Voters Matter. “We are fighting against racism and injustice because our issues are on the ballot. Our voices and votes will drive the change we need.” [LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR CAMPAIGN](  GET INVOLVED AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
