We're thrilled to share some inspiring stories of local achievements and community empowerment happening in some of the communities we work in. [Black Voters Matter logo]( Hello Friend, We're thrilled to share some inspiring stories of local achievements and community empowerment happening in some of the communities we work in. At Black Voters Matter, we're committed to amplifying voices, tackling inequalities, and fostering positive change. Here's a glimpse of what's been happening in our communities: This June, our partners have been making waves across communities, embodying dedication and empowerment.  The Detroit/Downriver A. Philip Randolph Institute Chapter has been on the front lines every Saturday morning, canvassing door-to-door and engaging voters for the upcoming 2024 elections. Their tireless efforts extended to Laborers Local 1191 and the Motor City Pride Festival, where they registered and educated voters, showcasing their unwavering commitment to community empowerment.  In North Carolina, our team participated in the People's Convening on Fines and Fees, hosted by Forward Justice. This critical event shed light on the disproportionate impact of fines and fees, especially on low-income Black and Brown communities. Despite efforts to reform the system, it continues to burden individuals unfairly, highlighting the urgent need for justice and equality in North Carolina.  Meanwhile, our partners with the Macon-Bibb Collaboration Team made a significant impact at the 2024 Summer Conference of the Prince Hall Masons & Eastern Stars in Georgia. Their efforts resulted in hundreds of attendees opting in for valuable BVM information and facilitating early voting for the Macon-Bibb Run-offs Elections in District 3 & District 8, amplifying civic engagement and community empowerment.  In addition to the remarkable work of our grassroots partners, Black Voters Matter is hitting the road in the Blackest Bus in America! With stops planned in multiple states, we're spreading awareness and empowering communities along the way. Follow our journey on our website and join us in making history one stop at a time! [BUS TOUR STOPS]( Join us for our next virtual Policy Corner, "Suppressed and Sabotaged: The Fight To Vote," on Tuesday, June 18th, from 5:30 - 7pm CDT. Working with grassroots organizations, specifically in key states in the South, BVMF seeks to increase voter registration and turnout, advocate for policies to expand voting rights/access, and help develop infrastructure where little or none exists to support a power-building movement that keeps Black voters and their issues at the forefront of our election process.
