Happy trading!       INDUSTRY NEWS BITCOIN DECOUPLES FROM EQUITIES Bitcoin's correlation with U.S. stocks has reached its lowest point since July 2021, signalling a significant decoupling between crypto and TradFi markets. The 90-day rolling correlation between Bitcoin's price and the Nasdaq and S&P 500 has dropped to near zero, indicating that Bitcoin's fortune is no longer tied to the sentiment in the U.S. stock markets. This decline in correlation is attributed to both Bitcoin and stocks retracing losses incurred during last year's tightening cycle. [Coindesk]( ETHEREUM STAKING SKYROCKETS Ethereum (ETH) staking has experienced significant growth following the Shanghai upgrade, with daily staking deposits soaring from 460 to 8,108, according to Glassnode. Despite concerns that the upgrade would lead to mass withdrawals, the opposite has occurred. Lido Finance stands out as the dominant player in Ethereum's staking pools, attracting attention and sparking discussions about the potential risks associated with centralisation. [Decrypt]( BITCOIN OI SURGES FOLLOWING BLACKROCK ETF FILING Bitcoin open interest (OI) has surged by 25% since BlackRock filed for a spot ETF, reaching levels not seen since May 2022, as excitement over a potential approval for the US's first spot Bitcoin ETF grows. The open interest for Bitcoin futures contracts on the CME is now at its highest point since March 2022, with a total of $2.98 billion worth of contracts. The total Bitcoin open interest across derivatives exchanges has also reached yearly highs, with approximately $3 billion injected into the futures market in just a two-week period. Bitcoin's price has risen by 22% since BlackRock's filing and over 85% year-to-date. The ongoing activity in the derivative market and positive funding rates for perpetual contracts indicate a bullish sentiment among large players. However, the approval of a spot Bitcoin ETF by the SEC remains pending, and the countdown for Bitcoin's halving event, historically considered a bullish catalyst, is underway.
