Dear {NAME}, If I told you I shave my face every day, you probably wouldn’t think anything of it. But if I were to tell you that, let’s say, Marilyn Monroe did the same thing... You’d probably think I was pulling your leg, right? Wrong! Believe it or not, Marilyn was known to shave her famous face on a regular basis. So did Elizabeth Taylor! And today, it appears that more and more women are adopting this “manly” grooming habit as well. However, they’re not doing it remove unwanted facial hair… They’re doing it to get glowing, radiant SKIN. In fact, the technique has now become so popular, it’s even adopted a new (more beauty-friendly) name — dermaplaning. But does it really work? And should you try it? Well, I’m not going to lie… While shaving your face might seem a little bizarre... It’s actually not a bad idea! You see, a good sharp razor blade doesn’t just remove hair — it also takes a TON of dull, dead skin cells along with it. In other words, shaving is basically just a form of deep exfoliation. Which is why many women notice a remarkably radiant, fresh, and rejuvenated-looking complexion right away. What’s more, just like us guys, women actually have a light layer of hair on their faces as well… It’s just not always visible because it tends to be much lighter and finer. However, when you REMOVE that seemingly undetectable peach fuzz, it can make your skin feel surprisingly smoother as a result. So if you’d like to give facial shaving a try, here are a few important tips to keep in mind: - Always start by cleansing your face thoroughly first, so you don’t drag any germs or bacteria into your skin. - Apply a warm, damp towel to your face for a couple minutes beforehand. This will help open your pores and soften your skin for even deeper exfoliation. - Always use a sharp, CLEAN razor — and don’t forget to disinfect it with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide before and after every use. - Don’t use store-bought shaving creams! They might be okay for areas like your legs, but most of them are loaded with chemicals that are way too harsh for the delicate skin on your face. Instead, I would opt for a natural lubricant, like coconut oil or shea butter. - Make sure you apply a soothing product like aloe vera immediately after to help reduce any redness and irritation. Then, follow with a high-quality non-comedogenic facial oil ([I highly recommend this one]() to help replenish your skin’s protective barrier. [This is actually something you should do every time you exfoliate — whether you’re using a razor or your usual exfoliating products!] And remember, while facial shaving (a.k.a. dermaplaning) certainly works for some women — it might not be ideal for others. No, not because it makes facial hair grow back thicker... that’s a total myth :) However, it can leave your skin overly exposed and sensitive right after... It can also cause the formation of ingrown hairs in some people... And when you’re working with razor blades, there’s always a small risk of knicks and cuts. So if you find this technique too irritating, or not suitable for your skin type… or just plain weird… that’s okay! Not everyone HAS to dermaplane. If your current exfoliation routine is working for you, just stick with it. But if you suspect you could be getting an even better glow, go ahead and grab a razor. After all, if Liz Taylor and Marilyn Monroe swore by this DIY beauty secret, it’s definitely worth a shot. Your Beverly Hills MD, Dr. Payman Danielpour P.S. One final note on dermaplaning: you don’t need to do it every day! For most women, once every 2 weeks should be enough to maintain that radiant, fresh-faced look.    This email was sent to {EMAIL} by jlayke@beverlyhills-md.com [Edit Profile]( | [Manage Subscriptions]( | [VIP Discounts]( | [Join Text Club]( | [Subscribe](  Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group 436 N.
