Following is a true story: Many years ago in my teenager years, for some extra cash, I used to babysit my cousins for my aunt and uncle when they went to Amway meetings and rallies. They were usually only gone for a few hours. And even though I hate babysitting, it was $20, they had cable TV including the Disney channel which was a big deal at the time (we had neither at my house), and my cousins were supposed to be asleep for 90% of the time anyway. Except they were unruly and stubborn. And I think they took pleasure in pissing me off. i.e., refusing to go to sleep, wanting food, etc. Anyway, it got real old, real fast. All I wanted to do was sit there and watch TV for a few hours. Not actually work or talk to my cousins. Then one night, teenaged elBenbo got an idea. An awful idea. Yes, he had a wonderful, awful idea that not only worked like a charm to get them to obey, go to sleep, and leave me the hell alone… but it worked TOO well to the point where my aunt had to lecture me and ask me to stop doing it. It’s also something that, incidentally, with some “tweakage” can work in marketing, sales copy, etc to get qualified prospect more likely to buy too. What did I do? I am glad you asked: 1. My uncle had a gigantic stuffed bear in the living room — this thing was like 8 feet tall, claws stretched out, mouth posed in a roar, with a stuffed dead seal at its feet 2. I told my cousins if they did not go to sleep the bear would rend them limb by limb, and tear off their flesh, and consume them alive Or something like that. To this day my cousins bring this up. And it may have messed with their heads a bit. It also worked. So, there’s that. And many years later I realized why it worked so well. It tapped into a powerful method of persuasion and influence that I talked about in the August Email Players issue this month, and that I am continuing to teach in the upcoming September Email Players issue. A method that does not usually create “objections”, and that is extremely persuasive to a qualified lead or, in some cases, potentially even hostile leads who ordinarily would want nothing to do with you or your offer. To get in on this action simply do this: 1. Subscribe at the link below before the deadline in a few days 2. Sit back and patiently wait for it to arrive (may arrive a bit later than usual see PS below) And that’s it. Here’s the link: [https∶//www.EmailPlayers.com]( Ben Settle P.S. A heads up to all current and soon-to-be Email Players subscribers: The September issue will take a bit longer to print, fulfill, ship, and arrive than usual due to 1st landing on a Thursday and a long holiday weekend due to that Monday being Labor Day. It will definitely slow things down by a good week, and possibly even by two weeks. And if you live in an especially remote area it will take even longer. As always: Be patient, and your patience will be rewarded… This email was sent by Ben Settle as owner of Settle, LLC. Copyright © 2022 Settle, LLC. All Rights Reserved.
