To punch off 2025 with a bang (well before it even arrives), I want to show you where arguably the single best email “swipe files” can be found, studied, and modeled. Swipe files that admittedly aren’t “emails.” But, that I have extracted many profitable email ideas from over the years. Specifically, in consumer-based niches. (i.e. prostate problems, weight loss, financial-related, etc). But, that can also just as easily be adapted to any other kind of market, most likely. Anyway, what swipe files am I referring to? None other than magalogs written by the best A-list copywriters. Interesting fact: There are at least three — that I know of — “A List” old school direct mail copywriters who subscribe to “Email Players.” When I say "A-list" I am talking about the for real ones, who, back as far as the 80's or 90's (ie pre-internet) worked for the big mailers competing, often in what the late, great Eugene Schwartz called "the Super Bowl of copy", spending months slaving over a piece of copy against each other — with potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in royalties on the line for the winner, and no royalties for the loser. I say this, because everyone calls themselves an A-list copywriter these days. And while that is amusing, is rarely accurate. Anyway, back to the point: Presumably, they subscribe to get a different perspective on how to write emails. Especially since, each of them was an old school direct mail copywriter (and two are retired from the game, but like all masters of their craft, still keep a hand in what’s going on). And the irony of this is, I have probably learned more about email from THEM than they ever will from me. And the reason why is, certain magalogs are perfect email swipe files if you know what to look for… as well as what to ignore. And guess what? If you know which parts are great for adapting (not copy & paste — let me be clear about that) to emails and which parts aren’t… you can use magalogs you get in the mail if you are on the right lists to help pound out some of the most profitable emails you’ll ever use, and probably in far less time than you can possibly even imagine now. At least, that’s been the case with me. But, I suspect it can apply to you, too. And, no matter what niche you sell in. Enter my offer: “Swipeocalypse” This giant-sized Email Players issue (in both page count and literal size) exists outside the normal continuity of the newsletter. Usually, it is only for sale as a 1-click upsell for some of my pricier offers. But this weekend I am selling it directly to the public as a one-off purchase for those who buy it by Sunday 11/10 at midnight EST. Get it by that deadline and you will also get: “The Email Players Swipe File: Volume 1” This is an 88-page swipe file of sales letters and ad inserts that were included in Email Players over its first 100+ issues. These are mostly short, “impulse” ads selling high-priced offers that have collectively helped pull quite a bit of dough, and that can be used as frameworks (not copy & paste) for your own emails, sales letters, and offers. Swipeocalypse is physically shipped to you. But this bonus is sent via email immediately upon buying. (Check your spam/junk folder if you don’t see it within an hour of buying) A lil’ something to “tide” over while waiting for Swipeocalypse. Flesch reading score measures how complex a text is. The lower the score, the more difficult the text is to read. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
