I have a Facebook account but I don't read anything on there except for the content inside 3 groups

I have a Facebook account but I don't read anything on there except for the content inside 3 groups - a local one for news, and two others for a couple of my businesses. Outside of that I have it set up so I can't get friend requests, messages, or even notified if tagged. But, I do see certain interesting things immediately when logging in. One of which recently was a post from Movie and Entertainment Sphere. It’s about two celebrities doing their craft for the movie "The Marathon Man" and is quite fascinating from a marketing POV to the point where maybe it should be called the "The Marketing Man"... === Do actors always get a background story of their characters before shooting? Dustin Hoffman’s character in “The Marathon Man” has been awake for 3 days without sleep. So Hoffman, a Method actor, decided to stayed awake for 3 days before filming the scene to see what it felt like. When Laurence Olivier came on set, he found the very disheveled actor hallucinating: “My poor boy, what on earth has happened to you?” A crumpled Hoffman replied: “I’ve stayed awake for 3 days to film this scene”. The masterful Olivier said with affection: “Why don’t you just act, dear boy, it’s a lot easier”. For Hoffman, it wasn’t about just slipping into character, it was and is about experiencing the moment. For old school Olivier, it was “just acting”. === I bring this up for two reasons: 1. There is a difference between acting and performing that is perfectly illustrated by the above 2. If you put on the hat of the performer (not actor) when writing your ads, emails, sales copy… and especially the way I teach inside the July Email Players issue, I suspect you will find your work not only getting potentially lots more engagement and sales…but that it also brings you lots more fun and enjoyment doing it. Marketing Man, indeed. Anyway, The July issue is all about infotainment: i.e., combining information with entertainment. And in my way of thinking, who better to learn the entertainment side from better than professional entertainers? And, even more specifically, Method Actors who I have learned much from studying over the years — including from long time Email Players subscriber Brian Timoney (via his book as well as many back-and-forth email threads, and even when he flew all the way out to America to hang with me for a day in person as part of a consulting offer I ran at the time). Infotainment is one helluva powerful skill. And the July issue shows what I believe is a new “twist” on how to use it.
