Part of why we haven’t been sending as many emails lately is because we know your time is valuable. But if we’re being honest, another part of it is because we’ve had to scale back since last year’s elections — and the well is running dry. You already know that we’re a small scrappy organization, a group of five progressive women fighting to make a difference by supporting low-income, working-class Democrats running for office. This isn’t some corporate-funded mega-PAC. Despite the obstacles, we’ve already made a huge impact. Last cycle, we endorsed 14 candidates and won 6 elections — all within our very first year! But in the past couple of months, we’ve lost critical momentum that we urgently need to pick back up again. Democrats have big races that can’t be overlooked this year, and this is a critical time for early investments as we pave the way to 2024. We want to be on the frontlines of these historic elections, rolling up our sleeves, and breaking barriers for working-class progressive who truly need us to help them win. But at the moment, we’re stalled because our funding is extremely low. A couple of us are working multiple jobs and longer shifts to pay the bills while keeping B/E running, prospecting potential candidates, and planning for the fiscal year ahead. We’re already hanging on by a thread, and we can’t afford to be any further behind. Our fate for the rest of the year will be determined by our ability to hit tonight’s January fundraising deadline at MIDNIGHT. We’re eager to keep things moving again — but we urgently need to raise at least $9,942 in the next few hours before we can make any concrete plans for the future of our organization.
