The New York Times staffâ everyone from journalists to custodiansâover 1,800 strong is striking over inadequate pay among other issues related to benefits and working conditions. We are asking you to refrain from opening NYT articles today, engaging with social media content, and listening to NYT podcasts. Engagement with NYT content is what drives their profit, which has exclusively benefitted those at the top -- on the backs of workers.
