Will Newman --------------------------------------------------------------- A Rich Jerk Was Starving

[The Writer’ s Life] December 19, 2016 Hi {NAME}, If you've had the good fortune to meet Joshua Boswell, you know what a positive, supportive, and optimistic guy he is. Wasn't always that way. There was a time when he — as he describes it — was at the bottom of a financial and emotional hellhole. But he discovered something at the bottom that helped him climb out. And his discovery can help you achieve the writer's life. Yours for a successful copywriting career, [Signed] Will Newman --------------------------------------------------------------- A Rich Jerk Was Starving My 6 Kids When I Found 3 Secrets to Living The Writer's Life By Joshua Boswell Joshua Boswell I found 3 Secrets to landing high-paying clients when I was at the bottom of a financial and emotional hellhole. Once I laid my hands on these 3 Secrets, I began attracting major clients automatically. I took the money and built my dream lifestyle. And so can you. I'm going to spare you the pain of going to that same dark place by giving you those 3 Secrets over the next few days. No charge … well, maybe you can buy me some razzle berry pie next time you see me … I love berry pie! Call it an early Christmas present from me to you. :) Phoenix Rising Here's how I got to the bottom of that pit … and how I coaxed the Phoenix bird to rise out … When I was 10 years old, I barely knew my dad — he was hardly ever home. That spring, a crazy drunk guy slammed into my dad while he was riding his motorcycle. My dad died that day … but, thankfully God and defib paddles saved him. Well, most of him … he lost his left leg. Dad spent months in a bed recovering. Every day, someone had to clean his wounds. I volunteered because while I'm peeling off damaged flesh from his leg, he and I talk. For the first time in my life, I get quality time with Dad. We talk about God, girls, and people he shot as a border patrol agent. It was the best time I ever spent with Dad. And it went on until a year later when my mom decided to divorce him and kick him out. It would be 11 years before I saw my dad again. During those 11 years, I made a serious vow … One day, I will be the best daddy in the world. I will find an amazing girl to marry, have a zillion kids, work from home, get crazy rich, and spend insane amounts of time with my family. My Dreams … And Nightmares Begin In pursuit of that dream, I married the Official Dream Girl, Margie Andersen. It was a great start! I also got busy building businesses. Well, attempting to build businesses. I started and failed at many ventures. One day, I met with a multimillionaire and told him about a business idea I had. He agreed to be the investor on the deal. He loaned me $100,000. The day we signed the contract, I read it over. "Hey, Mike, this says you get a 100% return. Does that mean I'll owe you $200,000?" He grinned at me, "That's business, kid. I gotta make my money somehow." I swallowed hard and kept reading. "Hey wait a minute, this also says that I'm a personal guarantor and that my obligation passes on to my wife and heirs. Does that mean I owe you no matter what if I sign this … and they owe you if I die?" I stared at him hard. He gave me an even smoother grin, glanced at his attorney, and winked at me. "Like I said, that's business, kid. If you don't give me your personal word, I got no security. You understand, right? Plus, your idea is going to do great. Don't worry about it." I didn't have an attorney to glance at. I really wanted my dream of working from home and making a ton of money. Margie and I had six children at the time and I really wanted to be a hero to my kids. I licked my lips, swallowed hard again, and signed the agreement. Two years later, the business went bankrupt, leaving me holding the loan note. I pled for Mike to change the contract. We had no money. My kids were going hungry. I had a power shut-off notice on my desk. His attorney called me, "Mike says the note is due in full. If you don't pay, he'll sue." I didn't pay. Couldn't pay. He sued me for everything I had … which wasn't very much. When it was all done, a "kind" judge awarded against me, leaving me owing the multimillionaire business shark more than before the lawsuit. No words can explain the feelings of fear, guilt, and loser-hood that filled me. I'd failed my wife, my children, and was embarrassed to be broke and being sued. Lawsuits were for criminals … not good Mormon boys from Utah. In the middle of all this, I got a letter in the mail from AWAI. It said, "Retire This Year and Still Make More Than Most Doctors" I was all-in from day one. But progress was slow. Seven months later … after 3-5 hours a day of cold calls, thousands of emails, countless sleepless nights wondering how the kids would eat tomorrow … netted me less than $9,000 in writing fees. That's less than $1,300 a month average income. You ever tried to feed, clothe, and house eight people on $1,300? I was lower than I ever thought was possible. And that's when I found three super simple secrets to attracting serious clients who are happy to pay large fees. These same three simple secrets helped me automate all my marketing. That means, I could have clients coming to me on demand, all year round. Three months later, I'd done projects for Corel, Sony, and Toshiba … with AWAI, Agora, GM, Verizon, Sage Software, and Google lined up on my dance card for future projects … when I could get to them. My writing income went from less than $9,000 to just over $103,000 in just a few months. Best of all, I was starting to live my dream … I was working from home and making a great income and spending time with my family. How did it happen? 3 Simple Secrets The secret lies in three simple concepts. I'll explain them to you in this article series. But, first you have to understand what was holding me back … because, if you're not making a huge income as a writer, these things are likely holding you back as well. Since 2005, I've worked with thousands of up-and-coming writers. There are three things that tend to hold them back from living the writer's life and fulfilling their dreams. Here's the first one … I'll share the other two with you tomorrow … and then I'll give you the three simple secrets that helped me automate my income. "What the Freak Do I Do Next???" Lucky us … we live in the information age! That means you have a zillion voices shouting at you. "Do this!" "Sign up for my program!" "I've got the best system in the universe!" With so many programs, options, gurus, and instant fix promises, knowing what to do next can be really confusing, right? "Should I use email, social media, the phone, texting, smoke signals, WHAT?" "Should I focus on B2B, health and wellness, the self-help industry, financial newsletters, the travel industry … long copy, short copy, emails … WHAT??? How do you actually make money with writing???!!!" And so the questions go. So many options, so many programs, so many gurus. And, insane as it is, sometimes the opposite is true … sometimes you simply don't have a clue what your options are or how to proceed. Whether you have too much info … or not enough … the resulting roadblock is always the same … "What do I do next?! What is the best way to proceed?" Believe me, you're not alone. In fact, it was the #1 thing that plagued and pestered me that first year. I was always second-guessing myself. I was always wondering if I was really on the right path. Would my efforts really bring in clients? Was my website good enough? Was my writing good enough? And on and on and on. So, that is Roadblock #1: Uncertainty. You feel it, don't you? We all do, so hang with me. I'm going to show you a clear path to total confidence. And, with confidence comes appropriate action … and that brings results … like making money and living your dreams! Tomorrow, we'll talk about Roadblocks #2 and #3. Just remember, it's always darkest just before the dawn and we'll get to some serious solutions for helping the sun rise in your life. Until then, dream big, take a deep breath, and hope on. Your day is coming.
