Dear friends, The Saudi regime's brutality knows no end -- butchering a journalist, bombing schools

Dear friends, The Saudi regime's brutality knows no end -- butchering a journalist, bombing schools and hospitals in Yemen, and blocking aid from reaching starving babies. It's shameful that this horror is being fueled by the US, but in 24 hours the Senate will vote on a bill that would end US involvement in the Yemen war. It has a shot at passing, but a few key Senators could still block it. Together we launched a media blitz with newspaper ads targeting those Senators in their states, and today published a full-page ad in the Washington Post asking lawmakers to not repeat the same mistake by emboldening the brutal Saudi crown prince like we did with Saddam Hussein. It's crucial to show Congress that the US public is watching. So share the ad below and tag your Senators -- they could swing the vote! [SHARE ON FACEBOOK]( [RETWEET THE AD]( In Yemen, a child dies every 10 minutes. The country is teetering on famine while the Saudi-led coalition bombs indiscriminately. They even blew up a school bus filled with children! The US has been providing weapons, refueling for jets before they set out to strike, and supposed "intelligence" to help "minimize casualties". Striking hospitals which have reported their specific coordinates seems like a terrible job at minimizing casualties. It's time to end our support to this horrific war, and this vote is our best chance to make that happen. Help make this ad famous on Capitol Hill by sharing it everywhere and tagging your Senators! [SHARE ON FACEBOOK]( [RETWEET THE AD]( Avaazers in Yemen responded to a survey and shared firsthand the devastation of the war. Sometimes we feel these conflicts are so far removed from us -- but we are all connected, and we are more similar than we realize. In Yemen they have not given up all hope -- we can help that flame of hope burn brighter. Let's push our representatives to see that too. With hope and grit, Rewan, Will, Risalat, Danny, and the entire Avaaz team MORE INFORMATION: With proposed sanctions and arms sales ban on Saudi Arabia, bipartisan Senate group tries to end Yemen war (Washington Post) US supplied bomb that killed 40 children on Yemen school bus (The Guardian) Mohammed bin Salman Is the Next Saddam Hussein (Foreign Policy) [( C.I.A.
