Today, I’m sharing our exact process so you can replicate our success. If you're unfamiliar with Connectively, it's a tool that connects journalists with experts. Journalists often need quotes for their stories. They use Connectively to ask questions, and you can respond. If they like your answer, they'll feature you and typically include a link to your site. Get good at writing pitches, this can become an amazing source of high-quality links. To get started, you need to sign up at and fill out your profile. Essentials include a personal branded email, professional headshot, great website, concise bio, and relevant topic selections. Your success rate will be a lot lower without these elements. Next up is finding a relevant query. You’ll want to focus on queries about topics that you can showcase real experience in. If you don’t come across as an expert, your pitch probably won’t be accepted. Let me walk you through exactly how we scored a backlink from GoBankingRates, an 82 DR site without paying a dime. The query asked for ways to make $2,000 per month without leaving your house. Perfect for us at Authority Hacker, as we teach ways to make money online. We crafted a concise message recommending the Amazon Influencer Program. Our answer was highly relevant to his query — you can make thousands per month from home with the Amazon Influencer Program. We personalized the pitch by addressing him by name. We also offered to answer follow-up questions, increasing the likelihood he'd choose us over others who didn't offer additional help. An important tip: make sure the first 3 lines capture the journalist’s attention. Connectively displays a snippet of your message in the journalist’s feed, and you need to so use this space to stand out from the crowd. Eight days later, our response was published — complete with a do-follow link from an 82 DR site. Now, I wish I could say that will happen every time, but it isn’t the case. Even with thoughtful prospecting and outreach, you’ll receive many rejections. That’s why it's crucial to only respond when you can provide real value. Drafting a good response can take 20+ minutes, and with journalists receiving hundreds of pitches, time spent on non-relevant queries isn't worth it. Now it’s your turn to seize the opportunity and start building high-DR white hat links with Connectively. Follow the process, stay consistent, and watch your link-building efforts pay off.
