These are my best tricks 👀 ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ [Authority Hacker logo] Everyone wants a fast site. After all it boosts both your traffic and conversions. But you have to be careful. Site speed is technical and confusing — it’s easy to make mistakes. Don’t worry, though. In this email, I'll share my top 5 easy optimizations that will put you ahead of 99% of other sites. And as you can see from the screenshot below, they can help you reach under 1 second total loading time. [Gael showing a site of his with under 1s loading time] #1 Use GeneratePress and GenerateBlocks Want to build a fast, great-looking site? Use [GeneratePress]( and [GenerateBlocks](. GeneratePress is a lightweight, highly customizable WordPress theme. And GenerateBlocks is a collection of lightweight WordPress blocks. They leverage much of the native WordPress functionality, making them faster than bloated page builders like Elementor. This isn’t just theory — I’ve built multiple 7-figure sales pages using only these tools. And there’s never been a better time to use them — the newly added class-based design system has made GP even better, enabling you to update identical elements across your site from a single location. It’s super convenient. Powerful, user-friendly, and offering incredible value for the price, GP and GB are essential if you value both performance and style (which you should). If you’re an advanced site builder and want to go beyond the default WordPress editor, [Bricks]( is also a viable alternative but I’d argue most people don’t need it and using it wrong could really mess your site up. #2 Use a (good) Content Delivery Network (CDN) A CDN is a global server network that speeds up load times by storing copies of your site. Without a CDN, your site will load slower for users far from your main server. [Cloudflare APO]( is the best CDN for most sites. They have a massive server network, and it’s a steal at $5/month. [Cloudflare's server network]( Higher tiers exist, but unless you’re running a massive ecom store, APO will more than meet your needs. Keep in mind that some web hosts offer Cloudflare as part of their service. If you use one of these hosts, you don’t need APO. #3 Get a good web host — but don’t overpay Everyone thinks your host determines your speed and many blogs and influencers like to perpetuate this idea because they make a lot of money with affiliate commissions. There's some truth to that, but your CDN setup is arguably more important than your hosting provider for speed these days. If you’re not running an enormous site, don’t shell out $100+ per month. You’ll be wasting your money. I recommend [Rocket.net]( — they offer the perfect balance of speed and affordability at $30/month for 250,000 visits. [Rocket.net]( comes with Cloudflare full site caching, so you won’t need APO if you use this, saving another $5/month. #4 Compress your images the smart way Images are often the largest files on your website. Decreasing their size without sacrificing quality will speed up your pages. Compression is the best way to decrease image file size. The best part? Great compression is free nowadays. Just upload your image to [ShortPixel](. It’ll instantly create a compressed version — typically about 75% smaller. If you compare the quality to the original image, it’s pretty much identical. [313kB to 45kB image comparison] ShortPixel also has a WordPress plugin that automatically compresses images as you upload them, providing a set-and-forget solution for image optimization. #5 Fix your LCP Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) is one of Google’s Core Web Vitals. It measures how quickly the largest “above-the-fold” element loads. LCP can be particularly tricky to pass, but I have a few easy tips for you. The first is to make your H1 text the largest above-the-fold element. [H1 text as the largest above-the-fold element] Text loads much faster than images, so some simple page design tweaks can solve any LCP problems you might be having. How to supercharge your site speed These tips will skyrocket your site to the top tier of speed… ...but they're just the tip of the iceberg. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
