[Current Job Postings]( Director of IPS’s Henry Wallace Fellowship Program Position Description: IPS has a long history of a vibrant “Next Leaders” Fellows Program that has brought 12-14 young people to IPS for 10-week fellowships, with most coming in the summer. In 2024, IPS is transforming this program into the Henry Wallace Fellowship Program. This new Program honors Henry Wallace’s commitment to fighting fascism, fighting against corporate capture of democracy, fighting militarism, and fighting against racism.    The Director of the Henry Wallace Fellowship Program is responsible for leading the recruiting and selection of the Fellows for the Summer 2024 program. The Director will lead in the development of the Summer 2024 curriculum, including workshops with IPS staff and strategic thinkers from among IPS’s allies, and a two-day strategic gathering during the summer. The Director will also lead in the development of a strong Henry Wallace Fellowship alumni program. Duties and Responsibilities The Director of IPS’s Henry Wallace Fellowship Program is tasked with the following duties and responsibilities: - Oversee the Recruitment and Selection of Henry Wallace Fellows. - Prepare the Summer Fellowship curriculum and workshops. - Work with movement allies to publicize the program, and to involve several of them in workshops and in a two-day symposium. - Lead the planning of a two-day symposium, including a public event.  - Involve alumni of the program in the two-day symposium, and as a support and networking group for the current Fellows. - Researching other Fellows and leadership programs for best practices. - Conceptualize an Advisory Board for the Fellows Program with close allies, donors, and former Fellows to help guide the program and support alumni in their careers. - Create other community-building activities with Fellows, including online and in-person spaces where they can continue to interact with one another, with former Fellows, and with Advisors.    - The Director of IPS’s Henry Wallace Fellowship Program also oversees IPS’s New Mexico Fellowship, which brings one young person to IPS for a year. Overseeing includes working with the selection committee on the job announcement, the selection of the NM Fellow, and overseeing their placement with projects at IPS.  - Develop and execute a communications plan that helps produce a strong outward-facing strategy in partnership with the Communications teams. - Guide participants through action research process resulting in Fellow-led workshops for full-staff - Evaluate program rigorously using multiple methodologies (surveys, group evaluations, application of OD theory and models), using data collected to improve program yearly - Coordinate closely with the ED, Deputy Director, other program staff including finance and communications team members to advance program goals. - Create Processes for developing successful relationships and work plans for new supervisee/supervisor relationships - Assist the IPS Deputy Director on some organizational development tasks. - Other duties, as assigned. Key Relationships: The Director of The IPS Wallace Fellowship Program will report directly to the Executive Director and Deputy Director, and collaborate with other senior staff in the development and execution of the Program They will also work closely with the Director of Communications, the Project Directors, and other management and program staff as needed. Requirements: Passion for the mission of IPS and the progressive movement, with a full understanding of its policy priorities.  - Experience working with various movements across the inter-connected issues of racism, poverty/inequality, militarism, and climate.  - Good contacts with progressive organizations across different issues. - Experience on leadership development and mentoring the next generation of progressive leaders. -  Knowledge of other fellows programs and leadership development programs. - Experience developing educational curriculum, including putting together workshops. - Experience planning public events. - Knowledge of and experience delivering change management approaches, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and leadership development - Knowledge of and experience delivering strategic planning,or organizational culture. - Demonstrated experience supporting teams in working collaboratively to meet ambitious goals. - Detail-oriented and well organized; outstanding time management and organizational skills. - Ability to communicate clearly, provide direct feedback, and model resolving conflicts with integrity and openness to learning and growth. - Capacity to work independently and on a team. - Collaborative style, combined with the ability and desire to work in a team-based environment. - Understanding group dynamics, and thriving in facilitating group dynamics. - Training in organizational development.
