[View this email in your browser]( Michael’s Monday Motivation Our team held our annual planning and strategy session. We talked about the Vision and Mission of Atlas and KAIROS. The conversations has sparked thoughts, ideas and plans that had not been said out loud beforehand. Our session started with an exercise encouraging everyone to say out loud their Dream Job. How refreshing it was for everyone to speak with Joy of their future while embracing the present. It's always amazing how one day, one meeting, one conversation can change our lives for the better...forever. Before any inspirations become reality, you have to give yourself PERMISSION TO DREAM. Take time this week to ask yourself, what is the Big Dream that you will make happen? Ask the same of your Team and your Family. Dr. Harris brings a unique perspective to the organization from an extensive career working to expand access to opportunity through a racial equity lens in community organizing, research, strategy development, collaborative organizational and system change, K-12 public education, education policy, youth advocacy, economic development, and building an inclusive workforce. Khalilah has been a contributor on cable news networks such as Black News Channel and MSNBC, and has published and been sought after as a reputable and knowledgeable source in a variety of news outlets including the Washington Post, Education Week, The 74 Million, the Baltimore Sun, the Hill and others. Dr. Harris is a proud alumna of Morgan State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. Additionally, she obtained her law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and later earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Organizational Development from the University of Pennsylvania. Khalilah is licensed to practice law in the state of Maryland and serves in support of a number of local and national civic organizations including as a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. -and- Rudy Blanco Director of Entrepreneurship and Gaming, Dreamyard Rudy Blanco is a former educator with over 15 years of experience in the field, including work with the New York City Department of Education. He is the founder of The Bronx Gaming Network and the Director of Entrepreneurship and Gaming for The DreamYard Project. Through his leadership, Rudy has managed and overseen various initiatives that promote the use of technology for learning and career development in the community. He has established partnerships with organizations and companies such as Google and Mouse.org to engage young people and schools in the Bronx. Rudy is committed to increasing representation and inclusion in the rapidly growing and highly creative video game industry. He recognizes that this industry has little to no representation for BIPOC, queer, and women gamers both on and off screen. In response, he launched BX Start, a physical gaming space dedicated to entrepreneurship, gaming, and career exploration, through DreamYard in November 2019. Since then, Rudy has devoted his time to developing safe and inclusive gaming communities, events, and learning experiences that connect gamers and creatives to careers in the industry.
