[View this email in your browser]( Michael’s Monday Motivation The incomparable Fannie Lou Hamer coined the phrase of being "Sick and Tired of being Sick and Tired". What happens to us when we think we have nothing else to give? Do we choose to give up or do we find the strength to find a way? This past Sunday, it was the first time I stood as an ordained Reverend at our Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church for communion. It's always a humbling experience because it makes one think about a level of selflessness that is hard to comprehend. But, we encourage you to ask yourself - in the midst of being sick, tired and ready for a change, what are you willing to sacrifice so that you rise? As we watch the news of the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and internalize how people are just trying to make it by with what they have, the easy path is to give up and walk away. The easier option is to say that fatigue and fear will win out over peace and promise. But, the realization of achieving our ultimate calling happens when we decide that there are some things in life that we must sacrifice in order to Rise. If you're ready to Rise, be ready to Sacrifice. October 7th Remembrance Let us remember the pain and the loss of life to the people of Israel from an inhumane attack on October 7th. We pray for healing, accountability and policy changes for long term peace. We must continue finding every possible way for the return of the Hostages, which includes Americans, as everyone deserves to be home with their families. No pain whether it's in Israel or in Palestine is acceptable. Do you now any Black voters in Michigan? Share with them that Our Black Job is to exercise Our Black Vote. Since then, Helene has left a trail of destruction all along the southeast. Torrential rain has led to deadly flooding and mudslides, leaving millions of Americans without power. President Biden has issued emergency declarations for Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Any and all support fundraising is welcomed! There is and will continue to be no shortage of need. Given the severity of the storm, recovery will take months, even years, from this storm. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables. Usually, a reading ease score of 60-70 is considered acceptable/normal for web copy.
