You understand that sometimes you awake and feel a little sluggish or maybe not in the best of moods.  But was today, the day that you woke up and said, yeah, I have a different energy about me? This week in New York, from the United Nations General Assembly to Climate Week, from the Africa-America Institute to Next Narrative Africa, global leaders converge on how to address pressing and critical issues. Time is of the essence in these meetings. Even more so with the moments to give a speech among such luminaries, where every single one of your words can have International impact. These days, you are criss crossing around the town and can end the night exhausted yet excited. [Get More Info]( KAIROS Conversation with Justice Kyra Harris Bolden Justice Kyra Harris Bolden is serving in her second year on the Michigan Supreme Court. Justice Bolden’s historic appointment made her the first Black woman to serve as a Justice in Michigan, and she has recently launched her campaign to retain her seat. In her first year, she had the distinct honor of authoring three majority opinions, one unanimous. After receiving her JD, Justice Bolden became a criminal defense attorney and later, a civil litigation attorney. She then served in the MI House of Representatives for two terms wherein she sat on the Judiciary Committee. She crafted and passed five bipartisan bills, that became law, which focused on criminal justice reform and protecting survivors of sexual violence. Justice Bolden is an active member of her community, serving as a member of the Association of Black Judges of Michigan, Wolverine Bar Association, Straker Bar Association, Oakland County Bar Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Justice Bolden has received several awards including the Detroit NAACP’s Ida B.
