[View this email in your browser]( KAIROS @CBC Dear Friends of the Congressional Black Caucus,  On behalf of Chairman Steven Horsford and members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), it is with deep thanks and a commitment to the work that lies ahead, I am proud to share with you today the release of the 2024 corporate accountability report, [âWhat Good Looks Likeâ: A Corporate Accountability Report on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion](.  This first-of-its-kind report comes nearly 10 months after the CBC issued its [corporate accountability letter]( in December 2023 in response to the ongoing attacks on diversity initiatives in the private sector. The letter urged corporate America, particularly those in the Fortune 500 who made [public pledges]( to diversity and racial equity post-George Floyd, to stand firm in their commitments and to update congressional members on the progress of their commitments. Our report is the initial step in a strategic effort to ensure the tools of economic opportunity are protected as we advance the [Black Wealth and Economic Opportunity Agenda]( and close the Black-white wealth gap in America.  The CBC commends corporate leaders who have overwhelmingly reaffirmed their companyâs commitment to advancing DEI in their business practices and operations and who believe that diversity is a business and talent imperative. It is our hope this report will encourage more companies to stand firm in their commitments to DEI and that the best practices identified will be utilized as a standardized tool to strengthen, magnify, and expand DEI practices across industries.  I invite you to read the just released AP story linked below and we are providing the following materials to assist you in amplifying the report in the days, weeks, and months ahead.  We appreciate your continued partnership and engagement over the past many months and in the future.  Thanks for being part of this,  Vince  Vincent Evans Executive Director Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Dreaming Forward Fireside Chat and Reception  Dreaming Forward highlights Black-centered storytelling and themes of resilience, resistance, identity, and social justice. Through a selection of documentaries and discussions, Dreaming Forward celebrates corrective narratives that challenge stereotypes while reshaping perceptions within and about San Franciscoâs Black communities. Join award winning producers Sidra Smith, Tisha Campbell and Dani Wright, alongside Black 2 San Francisco scholars for a fireside chat about how they build power through storytelling and film. Faces of the City explores how filmmakers and storytellers reclaim, redefine, and amplify diverse Black experiences. [RSVP]( [RSVP for Congresswoman Clarkeâs CBC Week Events]( In March 2024, the Congressional Black Caucus put forward the plan to build the Black Wealth and Economic Prosperity Agenda co-sponsored by all 60 members of our caucus. This plan, rooted in the policy recommendations of the Black Economic Alliance, will have a profound impact on creating opportunities, building long-term generational wealth in Black communities, and closing the Black-white wealth gap which has persisted for far too long. This panel discussion will touch on some main tenets of the Black Wealth Agenda and further explore how these tenants can and have been used in practice from leaders who are working directly with the Black community to improve their socioeconomic status and civic engagement. [RSVP]( Hosted by Congresswoman Terri Sewell, join us for an engaging discussion on The Future of College Sports: The Changing Landscape of Collegiate Athletics, featuring none other than the Greatest of All Time (GOAT), Coach Nick Saban, former head coach of the University of Alabama. Joining the conversation is SWAC Commissioner Dr. Charles McClelland. Donât miss this incredible opportunity to hear from these influential leaders in sports!
