Biden admin bribing Israel to not start WWIII

Yes, you read that headline correctly, we are literally having to BRIBE Israel to not start WWIII. Where’s our leverage? {NAME},  As you know, last Tuesday Iran responded to the assassination of one of their highest ranking generals and Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, along with the assassination of the leader of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed on Iranian soil, with a massive missile strike on Israeli military targets.  The intention of the Iranian attack was aimed at restoring deterrence following violations of Iranian sovereignty which harmed deeply held national interests. The international relations theory of deterrence postulates that if a nation does not respond to an attack against them, deterrence fails and they open themselves up to more attacks and the undoing of their nation. However, deterrence can be restored if the attacked nation counters with an equivalent response.  Once deterrence is restored no more attacks need to happen because both sides know that further aggressive action will warrant further aggressive responses and eventually mutually assured destruction.  The theory of deterrence works when both warring parties are rational however in today's case Israel does not appear to be rational at all. According to the logic of Israel’s extreme right-wing government, Iran should let them off scot free for it’s aggressions against them and the fact that Iran responded to their provocations means they must now face a catastrophic attack against their oilfields (the only thing that sustains their struggling economy), their nuclear facilities, and their leadership.  Iran has vowed to not initiate any further escalation but has also committed to disproportionately respond to any further Israeli attacks on Iranian soil.  Despite this, Israel is going full steam ahead with preparations for an attack on Iranian soil. The Biden administration knows that an Israeli response means World War III and are in the midst of a full court press to stop Israel, promising them anything, to avert a cataclysmic conflagration in the middle east. Yes, you read that headline correctly, we are literally having to bribe Israel to not start WWIII. Where’s our leverage? The United States sends Israel billions every year. They are reliant on us, not vice versa. Yet we are having to promise them compensation to prevent WWIII? Democrats in Congress, especially members of the so-called “House Progressive Caucus” need to grow spines and hold up US aid to Israel as leverage to stop them from pulling our nation into cataclysmic war.
