After nearly 12 years of being AHE, the time has come to change our identity! We've Got a New Name Dear Reader After being "AHE" for almost 12 years, the time is ripe to change our name. As of today, we are [World History Encyclopedia](. This is a big moment for us, so here's a little background: Over the last few years we have been publishing an increasing amount of non-ancient content: the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the colonization of the Americas have all found a place on our website. We held back for a long time, but now we cannot hide it anymore; we're simply no longer Ancient History Encyclopedia. It has always been our vision to cover all of human history, and even though we are still far from achieving this lofty goal, we are steadily moving towards it. Now this goal is a little bit more official, with the new name and the new logo. The new logo is inspired by cuneiform symbols, which represent the earliest form of writing and thus the beginning of history. The logo also looks a bit like the universal "play" button, which highlights the increased importance of video and audio for our non-profit organization. What about ancient history, you may ask? We will continue to write about antiquity, as there are still some topics in ancient times that we need to cover. That list is shrinking, but there's probably more ancient history content on our website already than anyone could read in a lifetime! Our search and index pages allow you to filter by time period, too. So if you're looking for ancient, head on over to the site, there's ancient-a-plenty. Thank you all for following us for so many years now. A huge "thank you" goes out to our members and donors without whose financial support we wouldn't be where we are today. We will continue to push forward with our mission to engage people with cultural heritage and to improve history education worldwide.
