We're proud to support mountaineer Thibaut Wadowski's Lhotse expedition to give Sherpa children a better education. "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Nelson Mandela The brother of Marion, our Head of Education, is planning an expedition to climb Lhotse, the world's fourth-highest mountain and raise funds to improve education for Sherpa children. He needs social media followers to attract more funding for the project. Simply by following his expedition's Instagram page you will help raise funds and gain sponsors. [Follow on Instagram]( The Expedition The French extreme mountaineer [Thibaut Wadowski]( will attempt to climb Mt. Lhotse in Nepal, the fourth-highest mountain in the world. Thibaut is supported by his team, William and Thierry in France, helping with medical and mental preparation. In Nepal, the expedition will be guided by Norbu Sherpa, a highly experienced mountaineer with deep local knowledge. Previously, Thibaut climbed the Himlung Himal and helped build a school with the [Butterfly Help Project]( a Nepalese NGO that supports Sherpa children's education. This time, he wants to go even further and raise funds for the non-profit organization. The Butterfly Help Project Climbers coming to the Himalayas for summiting the highest mountains of the earth has given Sherpas well-paid but highly dangerous work opportunities. Many Sherpas have died, leaving their widows and children in precarious situations. Norbu Sherpa and Andrea Zimmermann run the [Butterfly Help Project]( to support these families, giving their children the opportunity to pursue an education. The organization also helps those children who wish to obtain mountaineering training after their elementary education, which would otherwise be unaffordable to them.
