I remember teetering on a stool to achieve stovetop height so that I could watch as the eggs transformed from liquid to fluffy curds. I felt buoyant pride as I took my first bite of food that I’d prepared myself. I’ve been thinking about firsts a lot lately. My first restaurant job in Boston where I discovered the joy of making fresh pasta. The first recipe I worked on as a test cook: a dish called Quilted Ham that involved using a real quilt (but that’s a story for another time). And of course, the first recipe I ever presented on America’s Test Kitchen in my television debut. Would you believe that it was my recipe for [Perfect Scrambled Eggs]( Whether you’d call that kismet or coincidence, the moment represented a big step in my career here at ATK. And this summer I took another huge stride, moving into the role of chief content officer.
