Adventurer, Your Albion Online game account is a precious and valuable thing, and we want to make sure it stays safe. For this reason, we thought we’d share some helpful tips on how to look after it. So join us as we learn a little more about what you and we, as a team, can do to keep your account and your information safe and secure. There’s quite a bit of information in here, so keep it around for reference. Your Password We suggest you use a unique password for your Albion Online account. Yes, yes, we know everyone says that - but there’s a good reason for this. Because otherwise, should someone learn your password for a different service, they’ll also be able to access your Albion Online account. And you wouldn’t want that, would you? Our device authentication system, where you receive an email to confirm a new device or location, means we have a strong security system in place. If your email address and your game account share a password, though, this is all for nothing, and that would make us sad. Don’t make us sad - pick a unique password! Gone Phishin’ Malicious actors may try to steal your account login data, and they’ve got some really sneaky tricks to do this. For example, they could make a fake website and ask you to log in with your Albion Online credentials to participate in a raffle or a giveaway. Or they could claim to offer a program that gives you some sort of cool benefits. Here’s the thing: what they promise will never happen, but now your account data is compromised and someone can attempt to steal your account. Damn you, malicious actors! Serious point: only ever use your account data to log into the game client or (Scammers may try to make their page look like the official Albion Online page, so make sure to keep an eye on the URL - or, even better, navigate to albiononline.com by typing it yourself!) Serious point 2: Customer Support will never ask for your login data, so don’t trust anyone who does! Don’t RMT - Just Don’t Some shady sites and shadier people try to sell in-game currency or items for real money. The sources for this currency or these items are usually stolen credit cards or - yep - compromised accounts. If it comes from a compromised account, it means that someone has lost their hard-earned progress. If they’ve bought and exchanged Premium currency, it means that we, as the creators of Albion Online, have to deal not just with the loss of payment, but chargeback fees too. Ouch. Those who buy from these sources hurt the game. We hate it when people hurt the game - so everyone involved in these transactions, including buyers, will be permanently banned. The only legitimate way to spend money for in-game content is through or any of the game clients (Native client, Apple, Android, or, Steam). Stick to these places and you’ll be just fine. Only make purchases from the official Albion Online website or from your game client, nowhere else! Support Requests If you do need to reach out to our customer support team, please make sure you don’t send unnecessary information. This applies especially to account passwords and full credit card information. Don’t jeopardize your account or payment information by sending us too much of it. No one likes an oversharer. Don’t send more information to support than they need - if in doubt, leave it out. Keep Your Information Private Last but not least, remember that sharing your account data with anyone is not allowed, no matter how nicely they ask. Whenever you share your account data with someone, even someone you trust, you risk your account being compromised, your cherished items stolen, and maybe even the account being banned for third-party transactions. Keep your account information to yourself! If you keep this information in mind, you’ll help not just to keep your own account safe, but also keep the game healthy and safe for everyone. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your adventures!
