Donald Trump will be first American president to meet with a North Korean leader
President Donald Trump has accepted an offer of a summit from the [North Korean leader and will meet with Kim Jong Un by May,]( a top South Korean official said Thursday, in a remarkable turnaround in relations between two historic adversaries.
The South Korean national security director, Chung Eui-yong, told reporters of the planned meeting outside the White House, after briefing Trump and other top U.S. officials about a rare meeting with Kim in the North Korean capital on Monday.
No serving American president has ever met with a North Korean leader. The U.S. and North Korea do not even have formal diplomatic relations. The two nations remain in a state of war because the 1950-53 Korean War ended with an armistice and not a peace treaty.
Meanwhile:Â In signing off on steep steel and aluminum tariffs, President Donald Trump [could be striking deep at the heart of Texas.](
And: Gov. Greg Abbott said Thursday that if he's re-elected in November, he would serve [all four years â and not seek higher office.](

Dallas-to-Houston high-speed rail plan reaches end of public input Friday
As the public input period comes to a close for a proposed high-speed rail line from Dallas to Houston, North Texas transportation planners [are unveiling potential stops for a connector route.](
The Regional Transportation Commission on Thursday discussed progress for a connection to Fort Worth and ongoing discussion with other planners for a line south from Fort Worth to Waco, Temple-Killeen, Austin, San Antonio and Laredo.
The RTC will decide in April whether to take on the environmental study to get the Dallas-Fort Worth line in motion. Environmental clearance would be about two years away.
Meanwhile:Â Even if you don't have a gas leak or you're not one of the families evacuated in northwest Dallas, [you might be ticked at Atmos Energy.](
And: Dallas-Fort Worth landed in second place on the list of cities [where commercial property investors want to play.](

Frisco's Wade Park lender calls for April foreclosure
One of the lenders for Frisco's $2 billion Wade Park development [has already scheduled a foreclosure next month.](
Two firms that loaned more than $130 million on the mixed-use project in February had posted the 175-acre development for forced sale on March 6.
But New York-based Gamma Real Estate and Bamcap Partners of Farmers Branch didn't make good on their threat of a March foreclosure.
Now Bamcap, which is owed $48 million on Wade Park, has set an April 3 foreclosure auction for the property, according to officials with Foreclosure Listing Service.
Meanwhile:Â Toys "R" Us Inc. is making preparations for a liquidation of its bankrupt U.S. operations, [according to people familiar with the matter.](
And:Â A high-profile harassment case filed by a former Eatzi's manager against noted restaurateur Phil Romano has been "resolved" and "settled," [according to an attorney and court documents.](
Also:Â Financial regulators say yet another Dallas-based oil and gas company has defrauded investors, [the third local firm they've targeted in less than a month.](

Amazon issues a fix to temper Alexa's creepy, unprompted laugh
It was bound to happen: Artificial intelligence is making us self-conscious.
This week, some users of Echo home speakers that broadcast Alexa's voice-based digital assistant [have reported hearing laughing noises.]( According to reports, users said the laughter happened in response to unrelated commands or unprompted.Â
Amazon acknowledged the problem this week, confirming that the digital assistant can mistakenly hear the phrase "Alexa, laugh."
Speaking of Amazon, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott confirmed Thursday that HQ2 scouts [have been to Austin and Dallas.](
