Beloved, Greetings from Sousse-( city on 26th June 2015, where Islamist mass shooting attack occurred at the tourist resort at Port El Kantaoui) Tunisia ( North Africa). I am doing a prayer walk in six to ten cities here in Tunisia for two weeks. I have prayed over Tunis the capital. I believe God is doing something in the spirit over North Africa. When you ask some people a question such as, “Who are you?” you are likely to get this response: “I’m Mr. B, the son of Mr. C, the director general of such-and-such company.” They answer you based on what they see about themselves physically. While these people would want to leave you with their sense of worth based on what they see or notice about themselves, many others would want you to know they are nobodies and failures. Again, these responses are based on what they see about themselves. Both groups use the same yardstick to determine who they are. One group sees failures because that is what the physical eyes see, and the other group sees successes for the same reason. But this is a very wrong yardstick. If this is anything to go by, then we can conclude that most people in the world don’t know who they really are. Success is not to be seen on the outside. Success is located within. It is the ignorance of this, and the inability to push this success inside out, or to the fore, that is really the issue. The real man is buried within the man and is not really seen until you cause it to be seen. And unless you do this, you reveal the fake you, or an image that does not approximate, in any way, the real you. I’m not saying that you can reveal the full real you--not even a quarter. The full person in us is too great for any man to attempt to do that. It is too comprehensive to be captured in thought or represented by men and machines working in concert. Remember that man is “fearfully and wonderfully made”! However, try to remotely approximate the real you in any given aspect of life, and you’ll be counted as a world-acclaimed genius in that field! Also, you have the potential to do the same in all fields. Don’t miss the point: If you can remotely approximate the real you in each and every sphere of endeavor and life, you are that expected prodigy, genius, or phenomenon the living and posterity need. Chapter 19, “The Scent of Success,” dwells much on this. And because many people don’t know who they are, they allow themselves to be defeated or overcome by the problems, difficulties, cares, and worries of life. Alcoholism, broken families, hatred, drug addiction, disease, failure, runaway children, rejection and loneliness, unemployment, killing, frustrations, fear, and so on, in our world today are greatly attributable to this. This is not suggesting that you overlook or minimize the affliction, the hardships, and the calamities of life, but saying that you can control them. The sad alternative, however, is to allow them to control your mind or life to the point of not knowing what to do. It is a choice. It is a matter of great concern to know that a good number of people (probably the world’s majority) are affected, consumed, and troubled by a “disease” called inferiority complex. Because they don’t know that they are somebody, they allow themselves to be beaten, made worthless and wretched. They are victims of terrible ignorance. It is not supposed to be that way. Inferiority complex not promptly checked could degenerate to the point where the sufferer feels that he or she does not belong to the human race. People can get that low mentally, where they question their humanity. But the pleasing news is that men don’t need to suffer from this internal disease. I believe that it can be dealt with and overcome through the power of God, when you have faith in yourself and believe that you are not inferior, but that you are somebody of worth despite things that seem to point to the contrary. You just need to think and reason like a victor and as one who can always overcome. Think of yourself as a success because that is what you are! You are somebody. The word “somebody” means a person of great means, consideration, determination; a settled, fixed, and important person. Besides your spirit, your potentials qualify you for that. It is those things you do not see but that you are (spirit) and that you have (potentials) that make you somebody. In them, you can be anything you want to become. There really should be no reason why some people should be inferior in life. Even though some people may have a reason for being inferior, the truth is, we don’t need to be inferior for any reason because God made us somebody. Never think or say you are nobody; we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” Everyone has distinguishing, or unique, qualities that make him or her different from other people God has created. Each person also has a vital strength (well-equipped strength) and a tendency to look for the practical means to achieve an objective in life even as we tap from the strength that the Lord has released into us at creation. Perhaps a personal experience will help make my point. In my early school days in Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, I used to fail my examinations a lot. And because I didn’t perform very well at school, many people seemed to hate and lose confidence in me. This perceived lack of interest in me because of my poor performance at school concerned me some initially. Then I decided to work harder to see if that would improve the results, yet nothing worked out, and I was made to believe that I couldn’t make it in life, that I was a useless and good-for-nothing child, and I decided to be a very stubborn boy. When I got into secondary school, however, God somehow came onto the scene. He touched me, changed my life, and made me understand that what they were saying about me was not the truth, and that I’m not inferior, and I can make it in life. Consequently, the spirit of inferiority, the inferiority complex, was killed and destroyed for life. Instead, a creative faith was developed in my heart. And immediately, I knew I was somebody and started seeing myself as such. I really thank God that I’m not inferior in any way; I am somebody.
