Very few people in the media believed we could win. The Republicans thought we were a joke. A lot of Democrats thought we were a joke. But despite what Nate Silver and everyone else said, we lost by just 546 votes. Here’s how: Colorado’s third congressional district is gigantic. It’s half the state of Colorado. We have 27 counties, all of which are rural. So my son and I drove 24,000 miles across the district in our pickup truck, meeting with voters in every town we saw – big or small. The Democratic brand is incredibly damaged in rural Colorado and in rural counties across the country. In 1996, Bill Clinton won more than 50% of the rural counties in America. In 2012, Barack Obama won about 25% of them. And in 2020, with all due respect to the President, Joe Biden won fewer than 10% of rural counties. It’s less about the issues that would help rural and working class Americans. It’s much more about respecting people, their dignity, and their way of life – and never talking down to them. Because the ranchers and farmers and small business owners that I met in the small towns we went to… they want the circus to end. Something like 30 to 40% of the Republicans I met want their party back from extremists like Lauren Boebert. They want someone in elected office who will focus on the district and its needs. So that’s what we made our campaign about. It became our mantra: Lauren Boebert has done – and is doing – nothing for our district. She only cares about herself. We ended up losing by 546 votes. It was the closest race in the country. On one hand, it felt like a moral victory. On the other hand, I knew we could have pulled it off if we had just had more resources. In 2024, I’m running against Lauren Boebert again, and this time, I know we can win and finish the job. But I’m not taking a dime from corporate PACs, so I need your help: [Please, will you chip in $5 or more right now – whatever you can afford – to fuel my campaign and help me defeat Lauren Boebert in 2024?]( If you've saved payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [DONATE $10]( [DONATE $25]( [DONATE $35]( [DONATE $50]( [DONATE $100]( [Other Amount]( We’re already back in the pickup truck, meeting voters across the entire district. But I’m counting on your support to win. Thank you so much for being a part of this campaign from the start. With gratitude - Adam Paid for by Adam for Colorado.
