[Have you seen our Commonwealth Games printables?]( The Wisdom of Benjamin Franklin ... I have collected quotes for many years, and found that some of the most quotable are from our "famous person of the week", Benjamin Franklin. So many of his words resonate well with children. My particular favourite is the last quote in this collection - very useful advice! An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid. Well done is better than well said. Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing. Energy and persistence conquer all things. Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship. It takes many good deeds to build a good reputation, and only one bad one to lose it. Honesty is the best policy. From a child I was fond of reading, and all the little money that came into my hands was ever laid out in books. There was never a good war, or a bad peace. If you know how to spend less than you get, you have the philosopher's stone. Speak ill of no man, but speak all the good you know of everybody. Mankind is divided into three classes: those that are immovable, those that are movable, and those that move. A place for everything, everything in its place. It is easier to prevent bad habits than to break them. Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late. Three can keep a secret, if two of them are dead. Lost time is never found again. You may delay, but time will not. A penny saved is a penny earned. He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else. Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today. When in doubt, don't. [Never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.
