Read on to discover the most interesting news items November has brought us in the world of SEO. Ads Adds Campaign-Level Headlines We kick off the year with a big improvement to the Google Ads interface. In a long-awaited move, Google has added a beta feature to responsive search ads that allows marketers to create unique headlines and descriptions at campaign level. Not only that but campaign-level assets can now be scheduled with specific start and end dates (Black Friday sales, anyone?). [Ads Adds Campaign-Level Headlines]( Listen – do you hear that? It’s PPC marketers around the world breathing a massive sigh of relief. [Get the scoop on this new feature right here](. Google Can’t Gatekeep Under Europe’s DMA As the world’s biggest and most-used search engine, Google holds considerable market power – and the EU is determined to level the playing field. In 2022, Google’s parent company Alphabet was designated a "gatekeeper" by the [Digital Markets Act]( – a large digital company providing a core service (e.g. search engine, messaging platform, etc.). Meta, Amazon, Apple were also included in that list. To stay compliant with the new regulations, gatekeepers are required to change the way they operate in the EU as of March 2024. What does this mean for EU searchers? Here’s an example from a [recent update on the Google Blog]( "For categories like hotels, we will also start testing a dedicated space for comparison sites and direct suppliers to show more detailed individual results including images, star ratings and more. These changes will result in the removal of some features from the search page, such as the Google Flights unit." With the DMA’s goal of providing more choices – and preventing the search giant from promoting its own services over the competition – we will be watching closely to see the effect these new regulations have on the SERPs. Market Share Barely Budges for Bing Despite ChatGPT Picture it… January 2023. Bing announces that it is launching a ChatGPT-assisted search experience for its users. Here we are, a year later, and according to a [market share report from StatCounter]( not much has changed over the last 12 months. [market share report from StatCounter]( When Bing Chat (now CoPilot) was announced, many thought that this signaled the end of Google’s search domination. However, Bing’s market share has only gone up by 0.35% since December 2022 – certainly not the giant-killer it was predicted to be. Will this number change in the coming years as more people adapt to generative AI? We’ll keep you posted! And that wraps up our SEO finds for this month! What did you think? Anything we missed? As always, reply and let us know your thoughts.  Adam Steele Partner & COO / [loganix.com]( Your premium SEO partner for agencies & in-house teams.
