My mind was racing, palms sweating as they called my name onto the stage. I was speaking for none other than Mindvalley… One of the world’s biggest platforms for personal transformation. Initially, I wrote up a 20-minute speech. I couldn’t count how many times I had paced around and practised it. So when I had stepped onto the stage, looking over at the audience in front of me… Seconds felt like minutes. What peeved me off the most was when the 20-minute speech that I wrote only lasted about 16 minutes. 4 minutes left. But I didn’t know what else to say for those remaining 4 minutes. I thought I would have to just stand there for 4 minutes in awkward silence as the audience stares. But right as I was about to end my speech, a voice called out from the audience. One person wanted to ask me a question. Immediately, I felt such relief as I answered their question. Then another question was asked and before I knew it, those last 4 minutes had gone by in an instant. As I was shown gratitude for my speech and I walked off the stage… I couldn’t help but feel a little foolish for overthinking the entire speech. The truth about fear is that it deludes you into thinking the absolute worst will happen… When the reality is nowhere near as scary as you thought it was. All the leaders, the heroes and the ones who earned their wealth have gone through this process themselves. The ones who live the most fulfilling lives are always the ones who let their FAITH overpower their fear. As it is said in the scriptures, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them for the Lord your God, goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” ~ Deuteronomy 31:6 When you see fear for what it really is, it will no longer overpower your desire to CO-CREATE with God.
