When you start a business, it's like a tender green shoot. Redefining Success for Work-Life Balance

When you start a business, it's like a tender green shoot. [image] From Nathalie Hi {NAME}, When you start a business, it's like a tender green shoot. Those first few years are more vulnerable to getting trampled, eaten by a bunny... or being shaded out by bigger trees. You're figuring out what to offer, how to price and deliver it... and how to get people to even see you. Over time, as your business becomes established, your tree grows taller. You have more leaves to capture sunshine and in turn your roots become stronger. This makes it easier to weather the storms and handle market fluctuations. Drought happening? You can reach deeper for water and collaborate with other nearby trees. Having reserves in your business and building relationships with others can help you in a downturn. Then as your business matures, it starts to bear fruit. These fruit might be new products that help more people… They may be jobs you can create for others… Or the leadership example you embody for the next generation. Each year, as you learn more about your business, there's another ring that forms around your tree. This ring is made up of all the experience you've gained. It might be marked by the hardships you experienced to gain these skills and knowledge. Each layer protects your tender middle, makes you stronger, and makes your expertise more valuable over time. If you've been operating in the tender shoot stage, the gangly middle, or the established phase of your business.... There's more to it than meets the eye. I'd love to explore the topic deeper during my Scaling On Your Terms workshop. It’s free and happening tomorrow, and there will be a replay if you miss it so sign up to get it! It also benefits from regular rest periods. Your version of momentum might also vary from someone else's. If you feel like your "energy tank" is empty... and you miss the days of even "running on fumes" then maybe momentum isn't what you need to focus on right now. Maybe you need to replenish your inner stores of energy, joy, and love. It's only once we've refilled the well that we can overflow our creative energy... and find that momentum again.
