Friend, Congratulations you passed my test Friday… and YES it was a test specially and complete

Friend, Congratulations you passed my test Friday… and YES it was a test specially and completely designed to help you (and everyone who unsubscribed themselves) get connected to what you REALLY stand for. When I saw so few people sign up and then how shocking the show up rate was, I knew I had to do SOMETHING profound to shock you into re-examining your beliefs and values and ethos. I’ve tried doing it through rewards many times before when I’ve asked subscribers to pass various gifted resources I’d send them on to others. Few did. Consequently I decided I needed to polarize and seriously provoke people to either want to be more than spectators in the stands of the game of business life – or decide that it’s nice up in the nosebleed stands, watching the games of business safely from afar! So I crafted a purposely inflammatory, unbridled missive designed to challenge readers to re-evaluate concepts like… What their word to themselves really means. Why they don’t achieve the growth and profitability they say they want. Who they do or don’t trust – and IF they do trust them is that trust enough to act on that person’s recommendation? I wanted to be YOUR sacrificial lamb, if I had to in order to get you all – (both those who realized they loved me – OR HATED me) to do the one most important thing necessary to personal growth: To take stock of your beliefs and take action on changing them – especially if they are out of alignment with what you’re doing. By the way I’m NOT merely talking in terms of me getting you to take opportunities like Stephan Spencer’s clinic more seriously. Nope, I'm equally talking about self realization of the other kind (ex. who you don’t like because they try and impose their viewpoints unfairly upon you). I wanted frankly only one outcome from Friday’s email – and I got it: a cathartic response! It was stunning! I got more people responding to my polarizing, prickly email last week – in either passionate support or vehement opposition – then I got to register for Stephan’s clinic. That, in itself, is an interesting statement about what it takes to get somebody passionate enough to take ANY action. The point I was not so subtly trying to make and the goal I had was to get everyone who reads my commentary to stop and deeply reflect NOT really on me so much as on themselves. And you all did. Good or bad. Love or hate me – you all stopped for a reflective few moments and thought probably a bit more deeply about your own beliefs and values, actions and motivations than you have in quite a while. If I awoke awareness and appreciation in you – be it awareness of what holds value for you and what doesn’t, or who does and who doesn’t – I’m thrilled, frankly either way. I made you think differently. That’s a biggie outcome for me! My purpose in life has ALWAYS been to make people better off because I got them thinking differently. Acting differently. Transacting differently. I wanted to help make them better critical thinkers. I wanted to introduce more powerful mental constructs and viewpoints few others dared explore – because they WEREN'T intended to make you a million dollars overnight through empty promises like many info marketers promote. All I wanted was to show you an ever compounding philosophical strategy or strategic philosophy that has guided my and my clients’ successful life – and offer elements continuously – for you to carefully consider. I wanted to show you about value creation about how differently different people see life and interpret the seemingly same thing. I wanted to teach you empathy. I wanted to teach you to look beyond the superficial, especially when it inspires you to grasp the full meaning of a concept or word phrase that gets bantered around – like “game changing”! I wanted to show you how to grow and develop yourself and then watch you grow and develop others… Through deeper more meaningful thought, a broader quiver of arrows, methodological arrows to choose from – and a more real-world set of examples and case study illustrations to drive more effective actions. There’s a saying: life is meant to be lived. I believe there’s a huge difference between a business life well lived and one that’s sitting in the stands – merely observing. My life has been spent doing far, far more than teaching. I tell you this because; a surprising and somewhat erroneous number of people responding in the negative to Friday’s email saying it was the rantings of a tired over-the-hill relic. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I currently serve 41 private clients in five continents including Singapore, France, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Germany, New Zealand, Montreal, Toronto, Japan, India, Australia. Each is a six to seven figure engagement. I have joint ventures in the cyber security business, the dental implant educational business, outdoor advertising in the Middle East. I have two JVs in Japan, one in Australia, one in the executive meeting field, another in the technology job placement arena, one in the credit card processing field, another with a competitor to Google, another with the number one Honda and Acura dealer in the world, still another with a neuroscience based sales training organization serving fortune 1,000 corporations. I can go on. I have two books being completed. One on M&A for entrepreneurs, the other on a very elevated way of thinking about your life as if it were a hedge fund. Point being – arguably my world view IS very vast, perhaps a bit sophisticated, but definitely highly empirically based. Meaning, I’ve really done it. I’m doing it. Making things happen is the only way to grow. And you grow or die, as a person and as a business. You either expand or contract. You’re either a multiplier or a diminisher – both to yourself or others. Look, my email list was never the big moneymaker for me. It was ALWAYS my means of reshaping peoples beliefs, of being a benefactor and contributor of perspectives few others grasped let alone shared. It was always a vehicle for knowledge transference. I thought and still think that my role is to lead and guide and sometimes provoke. For the greater good! YOUR greater good, I hope! I lost people Friday who I probably offended and upset. But they got in touch with themselves and their relative belief systems in a deeper way – which was always my goal. I want you to always know what you stand for, why you stand for it. But always question, re-evaluate, examine and reflect on whether your beliefs mirror your actions. For those who became incensed and sent amazingly well written and impassioned challenges to my point of view – I thank you. Not for the email. But for taking the action of composing it, sending it, and most of all – attaching your name to it because you became clearly aware of where YOU stand. You earned an A+. And for those of you who got clear on what better, more meaningful actions and efforts YOU want to take – and why you want to take them… Congratulations! You get an A+. All I wanted from Friday was to move everyone’s mind in whatever direction made them see themselves… for whomever and whatever they are, vs whatever and whoever they realized they wanted to be.
