“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” [The Wiggin Sessions] December 10, 2022 [WEBSITE]( | [UNSUBSCRIBE]( Grid Down, Power Up “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” ― Nikola Tesla [Addison Wiggin] Addison Wiggin Dear Reader, “Very interesting and informative column this morning,” writes retired engineer Ralph S. “it will probably never be seen or looked at by about 99% of the USA population due to their overall and technical ignorance and political naivety.” We hope more than 99% of the population will take a look. But, oy, yeah, okay. Ralph was commenting on, coincidentally, our discussion with Mark Rossano about the state of the energy markets. You’ll recall earlier this week there was a “targeted attack”, or simply aggressive vandalization, on the energy grid in Moore county in North Carolina. The residents were left without electricity, heat or water during a cooling spell in early December. As I’m sure you’re aware, the attack caused a maelstrom of media speculation about extremism and terrorists and the fragility of the power grid. For us, we simply remembered our Wiggin Session with David Tice about his documentary [“Grid Down, Power Up”](. David’s advocacy follows a libertarian view that we ought to be able to use the utilities locally to both control our own power sources and not be strictly beholden to government guidelines. David’s a little more aggressive than my description of his documentary. He lives in Texas. And lived through the deep freeze of February of 2021. [Our session is worth a listen.]( “One subject that your contributor missed mentioning was The United Sates power condition and potential difficulties with the screaming mimis yelling about ‘green power’,” Ralph continues, “when not realizing that the second most ‘green’ power can be economically generated by nuclear power. We’re either too stupid or technologically ignorant to use nuclear in this country. Pardon my bias as a retired electrical engineer who spent most of his career working for a Federal Department of Energy Electrical Power distribution laboratory. Best wishes, and keep the informative columns coming.” Mr. Rossano’s understanding of the energy markets and supply chain far exceeds my pea brain. But he’s articulate and explains his investment ideas well. Check out this week’s offerings below. Enjoy - Addison --------------------------------------------------------------- 5 December 2022 [Crazy Rich Saudis, OPEC+ & the Global Energy Crisis with Mark Rossano]( [Click here to learn more]( The grid going down in Moore County, North Carolina, yesterday by “targeted gunfire” left 40,000 residents without power or water. It’s getting a bit chilly for that kind of incident. An investigation is underway. The war over land and energy overseas in Ukraine, already has Americans from Texas to New England bracing for insane rate hikes in utilities and heating oil. “Do you really want to play chicken with Mother Nature?” Mark asks. We realize after our discussion, the crisis could be even more serious than we first thought. Well, over the last few months Mark Rossano and his team have been working on something they’ve been calling The FRAC390+ System… It’s the code name for a trading indicator his fund management clients have been using for a while and pay up to $125k a year for. He designed this “Starting Gun” Moment indicator to isolate short-term price moves on a handful of supply chain stocks. As we head into winter, different U.S. regions are warning about power prices ripping higher. The New York Grid was the most recent, saying power prices may rise 20 to 30% this winter. The issue with winter power is the reduced efficacy of renewables during these periods. Solar intensity dwindles significantly impacting solar while wind speeds can vary straining natural gas and coal power plants. New York City natural gas prices for January are over 60% higher versus last year and Consolidated Edison expects power bills to climb 22%. What does it mean? Relatively nothing. Before we get started there are two terms we need to define: “Urals” and “ESPO”. “Urals” refers to an oil brand used as a basis for pricing of the Russian export oil mixture. It is a mix of [heavy sour oil]( of Urals and the Volga region with light oil of Western Siberia. We saw a global shortfall of energy infrastructure. Now that's obviously a massive term. What does that mean? We wanted to bucket it into three locations. One is hydroelectric. The second is fertilizer production. The third is renewable diesel refining. We saw a shortage of base load power, and we wanted to find a way that we could capitalize on the green movement while providing base load that is going to be there 24/7. Then we turned and we said there was a global food shortage. Fertilizer is massively energy intensive. We talk about a lot of dire things here in the Wiggin Sessions. But it’s at least worth pointing out the Dow is up almost 4% for the month.
