It’s going nuclear [Unsubscribe]( [Wiggin Sessions] June 04, 2022 We carefully select our guest editors for the Wiggins Session. This week you’ll be hearing from Justin Huhn. Below, you’ll find a special invitation from him. What do Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jack Dorsey, Marc Andreessen and Bill Gurley have in common? [Justin Huhn]Dear Reader, What do Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jack Dorsey, Marc Andreessen and Bill Gurley have in common?...All of these tech legends have reached the same conclusion: nuclear energy is the solution to several serious challenges the world is now facing. Let’s examine why they – as well as many governments around the world – have reached this same conclusion. Countries around the world have made climate pledges that are unachievable without expanding nuclear power generation. Decarbonization has become the mantra of the day as the answer to climate change. Countries around the world have issued “carbon neutrality” pledges, including the world’s greatest polluter: China. These goals cannot be met solely with renewables. The only forms of non-carbon emitting baseload energy generation are hydro and nuclear power, and hydro is only an option where geography permits...that leaves only nuclear power. Soaring energy costs have governments and politicians scrambling to address public outrage. Spiraling LNG and petroleum costs have led to more than a doubling of consumer energy costs in Europe over just the last year. Geopolitical tensions resulting from the War in Ukraine have further complicated matters, with Russia now using energy as a weapon by withholding supplies to Europe. European heads of state such as Boris Johnson of the U.K. and Emanuel Macron of France have pivoted hard towards expanding their country’s nuclear power footprint to address both their energy crises and their climate pledges. China has embarked on the largest expansion of nuclear power in history, with the stated goal of building 150 new nuclear reactors by 2035 at a cost of US $440 billion. Wish you bought gold stocks in 2015? [Click here to learn more]( You have a second chance with Uranium Stocks in 2022 There is an incredible opportunity to take advantage of this renewed adoption of nuclear power, as there is a large structural supply deficit in nuclear power’s irreplaceable commodity: uranium. Uranium has just emerged from a prolonged 10-year bear market. Because of that extended period of low prices, there has been insufficient CAPEX investment to ensure that new uranium mines would come onstream to replace depleted mines. The uranium market is already in a significant structural annual supply/demand deficit of approximately 60-65 million pounds. At the same time one of the world’s smartest players in the commodity markets, Sprott of Canada, launched the Sprott Physical Uranium Trust with the sole purpose of acquiring pounds for capital appreciation. That Trust has already accumulated in-excess of 55mil lbs. and is further exacerbating the already large shortfall of uranium supply. There is only one possible outcome: Uranium prices must rise substantially from current levels to incentivize new mines to come onstream to provide the needed supply.
